A question on this PK glitch

Hiya all. I'm going to be on vacation for another week (been away for one already and having serious PSO withdrawls, hehe) so I've been reading message boards to stay in tune with PSO. Anyway, over at Gamefaqs (which I don't care for too much) it seems that pking is the talk of the town. From the number of posts revolving around this, one would think that it's quite common. So, I'm simply wondering just how common it is?

Even though cheating and exploiting game bugs were kept to minimums on Puck 9, there seemed to be many more the last few days before I left for vacation (the 17th). If pking is becoming as common as duping and GSing, then I'll just wait until Version 2 or go back to playing on Japanese servers.

its fairly common now, and it sucks, ive been PKed more times than i can count, just the other day, i just got my soul eater offline doing the missions, came online to play and 1 hour after getting it got killed and it stolen, so i still play online but always in locked rooms, and with ppl i know, i to cant wait till ver.2 is here, i have no way of meeting new ppl now.

you should do what i do, just dont use those beautiful, hard to get rares online in games with people you dont know. I haven't lost a rare since my soul eater.

I haven't had it done to me yet (watatshiwa gave me a demo). I mostly play locked games so I wouldn't know how wide spread it is.

Haven't been PK'ed yet, but that's because I play in password-protected games. It's funny, I started playing PSO that way, then switched to public, and now I'm back to private games.

So much for meeting new people online. Heh.

Ok, I'll narrow the question a bit then. How common is pking in open games on Puck 9? I mainly play on Puck 9 or Japanese servers, but I also play mainly open games.

one of my friends and i were playing in puck 7 today, and some other guy we never met, went into begining of forest 1 and he kills us, we both had scape dolls and got our weapons, but he kept doing it, and my friend ran for the teliport to get to the ship, and died within the pipe, and his game frooze, and he lost all of his items. if that doesnt show how bad this is nothing will

this raises a good point- you say that sephiroth PK'ed your whole posse, but I know at least 2 sephiroths that are really cool guys.

I wish there was a "no duplicate" names policy. you could have a name like sephiroth offline, but when you logged on, it would add a number to it like "sephiroth 9987"

that way, you could tell all these guys apart. shame they can't be more creative than that.

I've only had 5 nights of gaming, but I've only had one weapon stolen by a classic thief (who offered it back for my MAG! A gigush!), and one unequipped deleting FSOD. No other worries at all.
