"FAKE" Reiken

ok most of you may know me. I've been posting here a while. Well to most, this will seem like a stupid post by a bitter person, but just so you know there is someone online named "Lord Reiken" i was very displeased to hear about him. i meen, i'm an artist, i take pride in the names i create. The names may not be to great, but i grow a liking to them. Sharing the same name with someone who i don;t even know totaly rips me apart...especialy if its my Reiken character who i created 3 years ago. when confronted, all lord Reiken had to say about all this was "I thought of it first" ...some witty retort huh? my name lost, tainted, corrupted..and by who? a child....a child with no simlper comeback than the childish games everyone plays as a child. i meen i had a bad day already....sigh....i dont know why can't just leave me alone...cant just stop my torment ( not just about the Reiken name)...argh.... but my guess is Lord Reiken took the name from my website......thats what i like to think anyway....oh well....im contemplating changing the spelling of "Reiken" to "Rieken" like it should to match its sound. sigh..im so depressed....ok...i'm ready for everyone to tell me how childish and petty i am now.....

I know what you mean, I have a character named Saffron, and apparently there is another one out there that's a thief. Not so cool to be confused for some thief.

Whenever a game involves non-unique naming, you just know some child with a spare vmu is going to haaaaaave to be 'funny' and use someone else's name to steal things on.

And true to form, the only retorts will be "it's not yours, it's mine, I had it first" and more than likely the person's char could be lvl 3 compared to a lvl 90 and the arrogance would still not be silenced.

One of the many things that can and will go wrong, oh well... I had made my first char - Ryudo - and the third day I went online after making him, I already heard there was a thief named Ryudo (albeit, this kind of name would be easy to just get from playing Grandia 2, but I digress). I remember a while back when I played Asheron's Call, a guy tried making an "as close as possible name" to the monarch of the guild i was in and tried blackmailing him.

There will always be the grief people, like it or not. Online gaming with the grief players is just a battle of attrition with no referee.

I do feel sorry for you... I've seen both sides of name stealing... a LOONG time ago, someone had "stolen" my alias, and defamed it, causing me to lose friends (at least until the matter was cleared up and we were recognised as two seperate people). When I first called the net, my alias was Lycos... and nobody trusted me thinking I was a member of the search engine... when I finally settled on DarkWolf, I had found out there was an artist (part of the then-ANSi group CiA named Darkwolf [w being uncapitalised]) by the same name, and I had chosen my name long after Darkwolf join CiA. It was too uncanny... two ANSi artists going by about the same name. I just said "screw it. What's in a name. There's a million and a half people with my real name... what's the big deal of sharing my alias with someone else." I share your emotion... but consider it a compliment... that someone wants to be like you. Look at all of the people who use comic book characters', or wrestlers', or actors' names who play PSO. Why? They respect them. Consider it just as a compliment.

its the internet. people will have the same name as you wherever you go. its just a bunch of letters anyway, its not like you poured hours of work into arranging them or anything.

yes, i had considered that i share the same name IRL as many people......i wish that could be changed as well.....i just dont like being a commoner...i like standing out in some way..being ME and no one else sharring any part of ME.....heh , well im sorry for all those who had lost their names (especialy to thieves)......at least we're in this together....well i guess i'll have to change my name to "Rieken"

I don't get pissed when I try to register at a site only to hear "twincannon has been taken" I mean. it's almost a given.. what makes my name "unique" is the capital's in it which is what my friends know me by, for the most part.. and what I use if twincannon /is/ taken (note my AOL screenname). Although, I have yet to actually meet another person named Twin Cannon, Twincannon or any other type of "spelling"..

video game ninjas?? wtf? i hope to hell thyat my name hasn't been used in one yet.....urgh...i was planning on making my own video game someday with Reiken as the main character..but i dont wanna get sued....fuk......anyways....as i said before, i'm an artist, i like being as original as i can be...thats why i get mad seeing my name taken. i simply asked Lord Reiken where he got his name from and he gave me some lip. this is where my hot headed ness and stubborness come into play...going to the skool i goto and playing with online dik$ realy make me angry and ruin my good time....some people on this board i;ve met under another name and they realy pissed the hell out me....course thats all off topic...i know that its just a video game, and that i shouldnt let it get to me. i know its just a name, and whats in a name..blah blah...sigh...::shrugs:: guess i'll let fate take its course and screw me over 1 more time.....

Ahhh yes I am familiar with this situation as well...I figured that there would probably be another Zion online somewhere, but it just so happened that someone my best friend was playing with had his Double Saber stolen by a Zion...I joined the game and the kid was cursing me off until he saw I was another one...

I wonder if there's another MechDan around? Being named after a not completely obscure videogame character, I would have thought there'd be more MechDans around--but so far I haven't run into one.
