I had a decent game this morning, on the JPN servers.. me, two japanese players, and a german player. We stuck together, didn't hog the items, and everyone seemed to be keeping an eye out for damaged teammates, keeping the restas flying. We went through mines and ruins, which is more than I usually do in a sitting, it was just that good of a game.

The L44 german android was constantly reduced to spare parts by Falz, but us L9x'ers kept him going and we were all alive when we sent Falz packing. I gave a JPN player a Delsaber right arm (I already have 1 buster). In turn she out of nowhere gave me a spread needle. Not bad. I got some 4-slot Divinity armor from Falz, so I donated my 4-slot Guardian to one of the other players.

In short, a game done right. I don't do online too much, as I admit to being afraid of some PK'er or otherwise undesirable messing my game.. I do hope V2 addresses these issues. I don't know yet what I will do when I hit L100.

Post #300 for me. I guess that makes me obsessedhttp://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif. I still LOVE this game. It's boring as all hell offline. Online it's great! I think online is alive and well. Even here in the good 'ol U-S servers. Cheating is a pain in the butt, however it's easy enough to avoid. My brother just started playing this game two days ago. Starting with nothing, not knowing what to do, and not knowing a soul. He's already started his list of good folks who are loads of fun, honest, and trustworthy. There will always be enough good girls and guys out there to keep it fun for the honest player. A good game online is more than possible. I know so many good folks out there who play this game. I just wish I could store more guild cards to keep up with the new ones I meethttp://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif.

Ohhhh! You met Ben Jammin? Ya thats my little bro! hehehe, I feel sorry for him. He's gotta deal with all the mail I gethttp://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_razz.gif. A player named Vash mailed him thinking he was me. Well after he got done explaining he was my brother, Vash helped him out big time. Vash you rock!!!! So if anyone happens to run into my little bro, be nice or I'll tear you heart out and feed it to ya!

Last night a friend and I were playing and we left the game open, just in case someone wanted to join us...boy was that a mistake. Within a few minutes we had one french guy who was a least 10 levels below us, and who also refused to use the word-select, even though I tried to reciprocate and speak to him using it. He kept on going on about not having a weapon, but as his english wasn't too good (being British, our inherent superiority prevents us from learning foreign languages http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif ) we couldn't really work out what he wanted...

A minute or so later this other guy joins in, and immediately stars asking for Mag cells...and doesn't stop. Even though we said we don't have any. My friend and I quickly moved to a locked game, and without that hassles, it was fun.

Hmmmmm...whats the moral of this dull story...

Wellllll...offline is dull, on-line is not, but only when you get some decent people...why do people behave the idiots?

Oh sorry, I forgot to include an actual "point" with this post...so I'll stop. Now.

I had a great game with three Japanese players some time ago. ^_^

I joined the game, with a "Hello, do you mind if I join?", and they said yes, but they were fighting DF at the time, and asked me to wait... so I did, noticing that Japanese speech bubbles came up every so often.

After winning, there was still the mines left, and before we headed up, we talked for a while. Noticing that I still had leftover items from my previous game, I went to the bank, only to notice that was full up. Gah... ^_^;

Heh, anyway, we went to the mines, and I discovered that two of the Japanese players knew English, while the third one didn't, so for their sake, I used the word select, along with Japanese phrases I knew off the top of my head, and they in turn, did the same. ^_^ I even learnt the Japanese version of "LOL" is "W"... ^_^;;

With lots of resta and s/d casted by me, we survived hard, and levelled up one of the players (since he/she was on level 28 ) a lot.

After we piped back to the city, I decided to clean up the bank, and gave away... 200,000 meseta (bank was full, and my character was carrying too much), 3 scape dolls, few rares and armors, and technique disks.

And in turn, after some Japanese speech bubbles, one asked me if I would like a Double Saber they had found in the mines.

Wow. What a present. ^_^

We've exchanged guild cards, and plus, I've generated a little bit of goodwill between English people (I'm including US people too) and Japanese people.

I feel happy. ^_^

I must be lucky.. I've never had anyone obnoxious, or PK, or anything in a game. Well, except C'rono on his demonstrational PK rampage on me and Bloomchen. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif In the games I play in, it seems everyone else finds good stuff, too, but never me. But that's okay. ^.^

I've played pretty much exclusively on puck 9, and try and only start a passworded game when I feel like having some control. All the open games I've played in have been fairly risk-free. I think everyone might be just paranoid. This game I was in last night, someone joined, and the first thing he said was 'Does anyone here PK?'. It sucks that it has to come to this, but I think, personally, it's rarer than everyone might want to believe. I guess we need more 'I didn't get PK'd!' posts, rather than hearing about those who do.

i think it's more than possible to find a good online game, even on blocks like oberon (i'm forced to got there after like 3 am when all the other ships get deserted).

i never play locked games (unless i'm giving my friend items) and i always play with new people and i rarely have trouble. i my 96+ hours i've only been stolen from 3 times, once by a pk. while that is still 3 times too many it has also taught me that rares arent the only thing the game has going for it. its the ppl. i now dont use any of my rares or go running for "special weapon" boxes and it makes the game a good deal more fun.

since i've started doing this i've made a lot more friends online and have had a lot more fun. and even when thieves do join my game, they rarely ever try to steal or pk because there is nothing worth taking and even they have a good game (when they stay).

"I like to think I have justification to be paranoid. In the last 2 open games I?ve played, I?ve been Pked. Both times it was on Puck 9."

Not to say that there's no reason to be paranoid, no. I just think (I like to think!) that PK'ing is more like plane wrecks. You hear so much about when it happens, but the countless times it doesn't go unspoken. I mean, is anyone going to say 'played a game yesterday, nothing eventful happened'? By all means, take whatever methods you wish to avoid it.. it is happening, after all.
