Every user has AIM, ICQ, and MSN info in their profiles if they want it shown. It's on the site to be shared, so users can talk and chat outside of the forum.

I don't quite see the point of asking others just to post their chat usernames so your friend can talk to them. Browse the site, if you find some users with it, see if they want to talk. Just don't go around harassing people and it should be ok. And besides, there are plenty of places to meet people online to talk. o_O

You know, asking for friends isn't exactly the best way to go about it. You have to mingle, and eventually you just know who you can consider a friend and who you can't.

Outright asking makes it look like you're just trying to get attention, which more often than not, is bad.
