Alright, I have been playing the Phantasy Star Online Episode 3 Trial Disk long enough to discover its Core Rules are much more pheasible for play in a forum. Now I've tried making PSO games in the past in which the rule system was based on the Episodes 1 and 2. Which had the same rules just more monsters in episode 2 and much harder bosses. I found that running a game like that was both confusing (due to the absolute depth and complexity of setting up stats and such) and I have decided to resolve this issue by starting a new PSO game. There also was the whole MAG thing, and there was the odd balance between humans, elves and Machines. Well guess what... This time Sega decided to do away with the MAG (a Robot that Enhances Stats like a digital pet) Complexity. Infact you won't even have to deal with EXP this time around. Character development has completley been removed, and everyone is equal. This is because Photonic Magic is now at its peak. Now, instead of worying about survival, it's going to be about comercialization and trying to make a quick Meseta (buck). I'm going to try and make things less confusing by also putting translations of PSO terminology in quotation marks.

OK. This game will not have bosses, it will have player vs. player competitions based on the new C.A.R.D. System.

It's 21 years after the time of Pioneer 2's exploration of Ragol.

Several things have happened in these 21 years.

The population of living things on Ragol has decreased sharply.

The job of being a hunter has changed.

A new generation is born and new characters have emerged.

Androids were decommissioned and turned into servants.
Replacing them is a new generation of Cyborgs simply known as Humanoids.

The organization known as M.O.R.G.U.E. has been established to study the life forms on Ragol.

The Hunters guild will combat M.O.R.G.U.E. in it's attempts to replace current photonic technology with their ability to controll monsters.

The Hunters guild belives it is necessary to remain superior to the life forms on Ragol and to not make ourselves any weaker.

M.O.R.G.U.E. belives that humans, marls, and humanoids alike must come adjust to meet the new needs of the new world and the new environment which they are on.

And so began the C.A.R.D. Revolution.

The M.O.R.G.U.E. Organization established a large base on the Planet RAGOLS soil to study C.A.R.D. technology.

This technology allowed the organization to controll the monsters of ragol through a series of powerfull summoning magics and cybernetic technologies.

M.O.R.G.U.E. then established an elite organization of warriors known as ARKZ to combat the threat of hunters who challanged their rule on ragol.

The Hunters Guild established a series of Hunters who live on a base 142 miles above the equator. This forever-orbiting base, a remnant of the Pioneer 2 which transported all of the hunters to Ragol over 2 decades ago. This ship also studied C.A.R.D. technology, but not for the capturing and use of animals, but rather, the use of Photonic Weapons. It is alot easier to carry around a deck of cards that one's entire armnament. This has allowed weapons to become stronger, larger, and more powerfull.

And so begins the story.

When you enter the game of Phantasy Star Online Episode 3 C.A.R.D. Revolution,
You will be met with a choice that will affect your gameplay and strategy from here on in.

Do you Choose to be ARKZ or HUNTERS ?

Here are the Hunters and Arkz Logos (http://mitglied.lycos.de/halcyon/HuntersNArkz.swf)

Choose wisley... and remember...

Only you can make your own story...

----------------------------------

GAME PLAY RULES

Each player has 2 6 sided dice. You roll the dice and depending on how high your dice roll you can use the sum of the two rolls to pick your cards and either put them on the playing feild, or remove a card from the deck for 1 point. Another thing you can do with the poitns is either move yourself around or if you're Arkz, move your summons around. As many people can play as you want.

The playing feild consists of a group of squares to represent movement places. These squares vary in number from each arena that is played in.
You can print out already made PSO cards or feel free to make your own.
You can also play this game online in a discussion forum using graphics fromt he web to represent the cards in each persons deck.

Dice :
Once again, each turn the player gets to roll 2 dice and use the sum of the dice for either movement, removing cards, or summoning of weapons/monsters.

Cards:
Each turn the player will have 5 cards randomly selected fromt he deck. Arkz will get monster cards and Hunters will get weapons cards. they have been equally balanced to manage combating eachother fairly.

Card Level:
As your skills increase your card level will too, and your cards will grow stronger as you do from EXP points. Every 100 points you gain in battle will increase your card level.

NPC:
Players may also include NPCs on their team if they feel the match is not ballanced. NPCs are characters lke hunters rangers or forces which will back the character up.

Races: Androids/Humanoids (Robots and Cyborgs who can't cast spells but can . use cybernetic magic and have trap-vision)

Humans (Can use a little magic, and aren't as strong as androids)

Newmans (Genetically altered humans with Cat DNA, they are the
strongest spell-casting race and are similar to elves.)

Classes:

Hunters (HUArkz or HuHunters)

Hunters are Sword and Blade users. They specialize in close-quarters combat when stand alone. They have High STR.

Hunter Races Include: HuMar (Male Human Hunter) HuCast (Male Android Hunter)
HuMarl (Female Newman Hunter) HuCeaseal (Female Android Hunter)

Rangers (RaArkz or RaHunters)

Rangers are Gun-Users Who Specialize in all types of fire arms and distance combat. They have higher DEX and lower STR than hunters.

Ranger races include:RaMar (Male Human Ranger) RaCast (Male Android Ranger)
RaCeasel (Female Android Ranger) RaMarl (Female Human Ranger)

Forces (FoArkz or FoHunters)

Forces are the magic users who specialize in spell casting. Forces have less DEX and STR than hunters and rangers, as well as less HP and less DEF, but they do have a lot of MIND and TP.

Force races include: FoMar (Male Human Force) FoMarl (Female Human Force)
FoNewman (Male Newman Force) FoNewearl (Female Newman Force)

Remember that newmen have more magical abilities,
Humans are more equally balanced, and androids
are like wakling tanks without magic but with other abilities.

Choose Wisley.

If you play ARKZ your class will only affect your own character not your monsters.
If you play Heroes it will affect the types of cards you'll use, because you'll only have weapons that your class can actually summon available.

Example: An RaCast couldn't summon a WAND but a FoMar could.

When creating your character Just select what
class: RA HU FO
and race: Newman / Cast (android) / Mar (Human)

and if you're female just add and "el" at the end of your class/race name.

Your character can have any style of hair, eyes, skin, tatooing, peircings, jewlery, whatever. Apeparance is not limited in Phantasy Star Online.

Once you create a character decide wheather you will work for M.O.R.G.U.E. as an elite member of ARKZ or if you will work for the hunter's guild as a Hunter.

The Game:
The two dice are rolled, the sum is added and these will be your card poitns for the turn.

Each player takes a turn to use up their poitns. Ways to use up points include moving one's cards on the playing feild one space per dice number.

Summoned monsters:

If the ARKZ player's monster is large It may take up more than one square on the playfeild, so moving it will cost 1 poitn for each square it must move across.

When a monster is summoned it can either be placed in defensive or offensive mode dependingo n what you want it to do that turn. In defensive mode its DEF and EVADE come into play, in offensive it's DEX and STR will affect it's damageing the target.

The points of a monster are listed on the card itself, as are its STR, DEX, DEF, EVADE, and MIND (if it can cast a spell)

Summoned Weapons:

Weapons consist of FO, RA, and HU weapons. These weaposn are determined by your class and race. Some weapons are rare and powerfull while others are rather ordinary. Weapons have STR, DEX, DEF, EVADE, and MIND enhancing/decreasing properties to them too. Only these effects happen directly to the card player who is holding the weapons.

Stats:

Stats will include STR: How much damage you can do
DEX: How accurate your attack is
DEF: How well you can defend against an attack
EVP: How well you can EVADE an attack
MIND: How good you are at casting spells.
HP: How much health you have
TP: How much magic you can cast

How do I refill HP or TP?
For HP you can use MATES or a STAR ATOMIZOR, you can also cast RESTA
For TP You can use FLUIDS and that's all.

You can get these items in sertain cards.

Who can fight who?

Anyone of either Dark Or Light organization can Fight. It doesnt' really matter.

How many people can fight at once?

As many players and NPCs as one can fit on the battle feild.

The playing feild:

The playing feild genearally consists of about 4 spaces wide and 6 spaces long. Other playing feilds are larger, some are smaller. It all depends on the arena it takes place in.

Photon Properties:

Some weapons and some monsters have Strenghtes and weaknesses to certain kinds of magic and/or elements.

here's a list of elemental photon magic:

Fire (Foie)
Lightening (Zonde)
Ice (Barta)
Light (Grants)
Dark (Megid)

Force Spells:
Forces can cast elemental magic and healing spells. Some monsters can also use healing spells.

Here's a list of all spells that all HUMAN and NEWMAN Classes can cast:
Foie, GiFoie, RaFoie (Note that Gi and Ra cause more damage over more space)
Zonde, GiZonde, RaZonde (In this case its the number of lightening bolts)
Barta, GiBarta, RaBarta (Once again the magical area increases with damage
Resta (Healing Spell)
Jellen and Zalure (these spells lower STR and DEF)
Shifta and Deband (these spells increase STR and DEF)
Anti (Dispells status effects like poison, Paralysis, Zalure, or Jellen)
-------- Only Forces Can Cast Spells Below this Line ------
Grants ( Powerfull LIght Spell On Single Target)
Megid (Instant death spell low % of working)
Reverser (Reviving Spell, Revives anything death within 3 spaces)

Spell Levels: Spells also increase in level as you level up you can find Tech Disks (scrolls) which will allow you to increase your magical knowlege.

Androids and Traps and vision:
Androids have the ability to see anything invisible, and Drop Traps.
Traps include: Freeze Trap, Burn Trap, Slow Trap, and Confuse Trap

Magical effects of spells and traps:

Freezing: Barta and Freeze traps can cause an enemy to be frozen in ice for several turns.

Electrocution: Androids machines can be shorted out temporarily by Zonde.

Poison: Some monsters can create a player to be poisoned and slowly have their HP drain away each turn until cured.

Paralysis: Some monsters can force a player fto be paralyzed. Movement is still possible but combat is not.

Confusion: This will cause a player's attacks to be eratic, and he/she may even damage allies and/or themselves when an attack is attempted.

Death: When a monster dies its card is reycled , if a player dies they lay on the ground until someone revives them with a Moon Atomizor or casts Reverser.

That's it.

So let's go over this again:

Heroes summon weapons, Arkz summon Monsters

Heroes and Arkz use NPCs to do combat as well as their summons.

Play is initated by rollin 2 dice6 adding up the rolls and using the poitns.

It costs 1 point for each playing square you move across, and 1 point for each card removed from the deck.

The player must always have 5 cards in their hands.

There are healing and damaging cards, as well as spells and stuff.

NPCs can be commanded to attack using weapon and/or magic cards.

Monsters attack using their own attacks whether they be magic, physical, etc...

There are status effects and ways to remove them.

Players take turns to roll their dice, pick their cards, play them in either Defensive or Offensive mode, and fight eachother.

The winner is the person who has defeated all of their oponents cards on the feild including players, weapons and monsters.

Arkz is monsters Heroes is just NPCs with weapons.

The story begins...

Good luck to all players of PSO!
