heh ok, heres my documentation on when PSO went wrong...this is just for fun..not a rant...just wanting to see if any of you have realized these events.
1: Era of Discovries - this is basicaly when PSO first came out, everyone was having fun, meeting new people, mostly everyone was kool. i remember i was facinated by seing Pallach's and any saber above a Brand.
2: Era of Thieves - This came about 2 weeks later. I had noticed there were alot more thieves around, people ranting in lobbies and I had gotten thieved alot.
*3: Era of Duping- This marked the dawn of what would change PSO and destroy the rare quality of certain weapons. This continues till a much later era.* (see Trends)
4: Era of Japanese PK- My first encounters of Japanese people, hitting other players with attacking. This would eventualy lead to craziness on Pioneer 2.
*5: Era of Rumors - Alot of misinformation was produced at this time. Dragons Elk, Gladiators spike, Black Death, were all rumored upraded double sabers. Alot of other weapons were rumored too.*(see trends)
6: Era of Gameshark- This is when i started to hear about lv 999 mags and overly grinded weapons. This also continues for some time.
7: Era of New Rares - Lavis Cannon and other new weapons no one had seen before come into play here. It wasn't long before they were raped by dupers.
8: Era of SEGA I - SEGA stops Duping by uprading their servers. Also, "Incorrect Items" banned from the servers.
*9: Era of Player Kill - At first, only a handfull of people knew this trick. It came out of no where as all of a sudden, players came into games, and killed unsuspecting players with Resta. After much time, the information on how to do this technique was spread. soon mostly everyone knew how to do it. With this information, thieves had used this information for their own evil purposes, to hurt other players, and steal their hard earned weapons. Things looked bad for honest players. We had to start locking our games, for we didn't know who could kill us at any second.
10: Era of Retaliation - With the rise of Pk'ers and thieves, the demand for the knowledge and items necissary to PK increased. Honest players wanted to extract revenge by hunting their thieves and PK'ing them.
11: Era of SEGA II - A small era, happend very recently. SEGA lays their mighty hand of justice down, thus closing the chapter for PK'ers. With a new updated server, PK'ers could not use their items to kill other players.
12: Era of Hope - This is the era i currently find us in. With no more PK'ing (hopefully) the PSO community should be safe for now.
Thieves still roam around, but they cannot do as much damage as before. I don't know what to expect of this era. I hope it will bring more players back, and bring some new honest players.

Trends

This section is a list of the trendy weapons that were wanted at certain times. heh, it seemed every week there was a new desireable item. These were duped in these sets. THese sets are the ones i expierinced. By the end of Era 3 these weapons were all found, and pillaged.
Trend 1: Stag Cuterly, Twin Brand, Egg Blaster, Chain SawD, Holy Ray, Inferno Bazooka, Flame Visit, S-Beats blades, Soul Banish (less common),Magical Piece, Sting Tip, Suppressed gun, and Orotiagito.
Double sabers and Photon claws were also a hot commodety. These were the common object of obtaining in thieves eyes.

This is the first set of "NEW" rares that had been discovered, thus becoming highly popular and in demand. Some are rumors and fakes no one knew thanks to hacks.
Trend 2: C-Bringer Rifle, C-Sorcerer Cane, Dragon's Elk, Gladiators Spike, Black Death, Black S-Beats Blades.

Trend 3: Mag Cells. Everyone wanted a new mag. Cells 213 and 502 were found first, then came along Pian and Opa Opa, Chao and Mecha chao came last. Rumors of a Sonic Mag and Nights mag were also hinted. Versus Books even said Sonic existed. but after a month of duped rare mags and cells, Sonic or Nights were ever seen.

The most exotic and powerfull rares of them all are found around 7.
People were excited of course and HAD to have the items through any means, dupes, what have you.
Trend 4 : Lavis Cannon, Nei's Claw, Heaven's Punisher, Pan Arms , God Hp++, Cadecus, Psycho Wand, and Sonic Knuckles.
This is the Last of the trends. And the one that corrupted PSO the most.
God Hp++ (still trendy), Devil Tech--, and Resta 15.
well i hope you enjoyed my documentation. This is just what i've noticed, some of you may have noticed different, but most of my friends have agreed with my thoeries.
I hope for the Era's to follow are good ones.
As for trends, my current obsession is SANGE.
