Ikaruga has this thingy that gives you a number after you game over. you register that number online and then you get a ranking ....

is it like that?

or it FZero (online rank) connected directly to your cube ??

ur so right on that. it took me three times(using all my continues and starting over from scratch) to final make it throught that last race on diamond. this game truly owns all except for that last part where u get to do, um.... an interview with ur racer. that just sucks all the fun out of winning first.
was wondering too, if there is anyone who is good at attacking. i really lost my edge from the 64 zero and was looking for some pointers.

When I play Ruby on Novice (easy tickets), I like to hang out in the back and see how many I can wipe out and then shoot foward on the last lap to get first place. After 5 stars from wiping them out, you get an extra life, after 10 the stars change into a skull.

I know! I'm only on Ch.3 and it took me an hour and a half to beat goroh on hard. Getting those AX parts is worth it though!

I made it to ch 2 on the easiest difficulty. I was about to beat it when Gorah suddenly zipped foward and beat me by about a second or so. After going through that many, many times, I was REALLY ticked off. I haven't played it since.

story mode tips up to ch. 4

(easy mode)

Prelude-watch the stupid movie. if you can not finish this, story mode is not for you

ch1-find a good line, take all 3 laps

ch2-resist all urges to boost until the last turn. put your settings to full max speed. goroh will no boost until you boost. you will catch up to him

ch3-hit all jumps, boost like crazy, don't die (don't give up)

ch4-kill everything in sight (killing gives you more boost)haven't beaten it yet. rival takes multiple hits. you must kill rival and beat everybody else. (my best: 26 kills)

wait till you try master mode ;D thats some hard junk man..specialy diamond cup (currently stuck there >.>' ) eeh on story mode im on chapter 8...deathly hard to beat. as for attacking, just use the X button attack, if you have your settings just about 2 bars above the middle, you can take out usualy two people right at the starting line XD kill 5 people on one race and get an extra machine/life/man! I havent got to experence AX..at the arcade yet u_u but I hope to when I go visit friends this christmas..*runs off to make an Ikaruga post*

thats for the tip, but now ive gotten preatty good at attacking,i havent yet gotten to 20 kills yet for an entire race (got to 17 once and 7 for one race)but i will real soon. as for story mode, im stuck on 3. i get to the end of the last lap and all of a sudden, ill get blown by by like two guys(while boosting mind u). anyway, im still trying to beat everything past ruby on expert.

I put the settings bar all the way to the left (acceleration) and kept boosting.

Ch.4-max speed. boost up to a group of thugs, take them out to fill your energy, and move on. (i took out all but 1 thug)

Ch.5- Boost like crazy, don't hit the blast doors, and grab every energy capsule. (My time was like
0' 50' 038" meaning i barely got out of there in time:D)

Good lord did I hate the last chapter on story mode... I just wanted to completely bash my brains in while repeatidly falling off the track in the exact same spots over and over again...

Deathbornes machine sucks sorta

for chapter 2 dont accelerate until the last 5000 miles (look in the upper left half of the HUD) i always win that way

ive beaten chapter 2 on Normal, Hard, and Very Hard that way.
