first of all, apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, i did a forum search on max stats and it brought up like 100 million results.
it *should* be totally easy for sonic team to find and ban people who use max stats, all it would take is one little patch, or even a checksum when logging online.
for example, my fictional character, "ssj4M4Xst4ts" has 100 luck, by means of cheating. when "ssj4M4Xst4ts" logs onto the servers, a simple routine would detect that "ssj4M4Xst4ts" has used only 4 luck materials, has no god/lucks or god/abilitys or weapons that boost luck equipped, and thusly his 100 luck is a complete impossibility. INSTANT-BAN!!
i reckon it would work, it would maybe add a millisecond to the logging on process. what do y'all think?
oh yeah, heres an obligitory reminder for everyone not to ask for cheats/glitches etc. this is for discussion purposes only.

whoa dude, im not pushing ideas onto anyone, it was just a suggestion.
its not like sonic team are gonna see that and implement it right away, ban anyone who's characters fail, and lose LOTS of customers.
if people want to play with their stats maxed out at lvl 1* then thats fine. but let them play with each other, and not come into a game where people are trying to have a balanced and fun time.
people can play their own games in their own ways, but in an online environment, where a level playing field is required, maxing stats, duping, multi equiping, whatever, it ruins the experience for those of us who play it how sonic team intended.
i would appreciate it if this topic was locked, i dont want to be responsible for yet another legit/duper row.
*i could never understand the whole max stats thing, isnt a main point of the game levelling up and gaining stats that way? if your stats are maxed then.....why?
But in my opinion, any online game has to be fair and balanced to ALL players.

Is anyone else getting tired of these stupid threads? Its always some ignorant idea for ST on how they should ban, delete, detect, and/or abolish weps, chars, items, accounts, etc. yada, yada, yada....
Get a life and just play the game. We don't need to keep hearing your ideas for what ST needs to do. 1) I've seen many examples of those maxed chars ruining games for normal chars. That I also call pushing an idea onto others.
2) ST actualy wants to push their ideas upon us. That's why there isn't a shop called 'DaDupa' in the city. It wouldn't even surprise me if ST would implement this idea... (I have seen communication with ST that sez they will ban anyone caught with his/her pants down)
3) Most of us start paying after reading the manual. And when we are online for a while (usualy short) we find that the online world is not what the manual sez. Thanx to the cheaters.....
Mind you, this is not meant as a flame. It's just my thoughts on the quote. Ofcourse everyone should play the way he/she wants. But it would be nice to see eveyone support that idea and not ruin things for others....

Same here. Sadly, there are loads of ppl that just want to go from the start to the end credits at the highest possible pace and then brag about having done it. Also sadly, quite a few of'em even like bragging about just exactly how they did it, and call anyone who doesn't want to do it the same way names.
But if there has to be inbalance, let's at least be nice to eachother and let the legits be legit and the cheaters be cheats. Let the cheaters balance with other cheaters and the the legits balance with other legits. No name-calling, no bad vibes. Apartheid if need be...

But I have to admit it is kind of tiring to see go through so many topics about the same thing just to get to the few that are really intersting.
As I said, if I get real tired, I just ignore....
The Max Stats thing is probably undetectable because when you use a material, one stat goes up and the material counter goes up by one. The stats themselves are saved in the file, and not in the form of say "What ATP would be at L99, plus however many Power Mats used". It'd be more economical on space to use "What ATP is" and "How many mats in general used".

thinking about it, your most probably right jack. stats would be recorded as they are on the character, not as a formula.

Damn straight! I paid money for a fun challenging team oriented RPG and all these cheaters ruined it. It's like their stealing PSO from me after I paid for it.

I think thats great that you are able to simply ignore them, however, I feel it goes far beyond any one post. The forums have been getting worse lately and what you witnessed in my post is a cumulation of all the emotions that have been pent up day after day. Sometimes ignoring something is the best route to take and causes the least waves. However, sometimes ignoring something allows it to flourish unrestrained. Its great that you have the restraint to keep from making a rash post, but I think there are occassions when its neccessary to stand up and make your voice heard. I have never followed the philosphy of keeping things quiet and not making ripples. One of my most obvious character "flaws" is that I tend to be reactionary. I voice my opinions, but I also try to listen to the opinions of others as well. I have enjoyed this forum for some time now and I don't wish to see it become a bastion of flaming and personal attacks. Ergo, my albeit abrasive post was a venting/cathartic rant in tone with my frustration of what I feel has become a somewhat hostile environment. Like I said, play hte way you wanna play, if you dont wnat to play with cheaters then dont. Play the way you wanna play, play with friends and in locked games if you dont like cheating.

Maybe I played the game the way it saw sposed to be untill my pride and joy Lvl 112 HUmar, first character got corrupted the first time I went online. Now at the moment I was breathless, the makers of this game had messed up a little and now my character is gone(it just dissconected me when I went into a game, my plug was fine cause i made a new character and it worked fine from then on) So since then Im playing the way i wanna play, and leave me be, I dont bother you when you play do I? I respect the makers for creating a great game, but they also left in bugs that corrupt your characters and make them lose items.

uhhh, if the stats are maxed, what on earth is the use of getting chars at lvl200? Bragging? All you will be able to brag about is how good you are at cheating your way to the top...

I haven't got a clue. I never had a DC. I guess it's hard to catch someone pants down...

It wont happen, it would take too much time and money to code all this stuff into the game. they wont ban people because they need the money made from the HL's to keep it worth making new quests and stuff

first of all banning every body who maxes is insane so what if theyb r maxed if u have a prob with it then dont play pso cuz i can assure u 99.9% of the players are maxed. second of all let pepps play the way they wanna play. its their prob if they take the fun out of their game

So hang on, step back a second. So 99.9% of PSO players use a relatively obscure and, from what I hear, annoying to do trick to max their stats? I don't buy that for a second. I couldn't tell you how the trick was done even if you hypnotized me and I'm sure this goes for the vast majority of PSO players. Contrary to what you may believe, everyone on PSO isn't that power-hungry. They'll use duped items, they'll lie about their duped items and say they're legit, but your average PSO player probably won't max their stats or even search the internet to find out how.
I would not lose a wink of sleep if max stat players were banned. I would find their outrage hilarious as a matter of fact.

I have to agree with all the people saying let them play how they want I'm Sorry but how would you feel like if some one made you change the way you played just case they didn't like it. It Gay your not paying there 10 bucks a month so don't bitch about as many said play with who you want to but don't just sit there and bitch about it. There not ruining your game play if you listen to these people and just stay clear of them if you do that it all normal let them play how they want and you cant do a thing about it Unless you feel like paying for all the pso accounts so you can boss people around.

If Sega Team decided to ban everyone who duped, hacked, or cheated in any way there might only be 10 people left online. Not really a good way to make money,that's just bad business. That is the best reason for ST not to ban people who keep paying them.

Yes, I agree with it from a business shandpoint. However, it would be a simple task to stop these people from coming online without banning them. Problem solved, customers kept, everyone wins.

I maxed my Humar stats after I got him to lvl 200. And believe me he still get his arse kick around in Ruins without the help of a Force casting Deband. Still, it doesn't matter. It's all about how much fun you have playing it not because you cheat getting there.

All of you should just stop complaining and be grateful that gamecube isnt as bad as dreamcast was.
I went all through that hack war sh#@ on dreamcast and it wasnt pretty so just be happy that cheating is as limited as it is.

As for maxing stats... not everyone completely maxes their stats. Some people, like myself, just raise them a bit so we arent the only ones getting their asses kicked on ultimate or in battle mode.

If ST were to do their job and ban cheaters, it wouldn't hurt their business very much at all. The vast majority of PSO's online userbase is Japanese, and most of them are legits. So if they banned people for max stats, or having a Red Ring, or anything like that, it'd actually cost them relatively little money.
BUT there's absoultely NO chance of this happening. As game creators, ST are brilliant. But they do a negilient job at best in running the PSO servers. They should sub it out to someone who would be more active, especially at the $8.95 price they charge.

ST is not going to bother with going thru the trouble for some whiners stupid complaints about max stats, they have far worse things to worry about the stats, unless they where grossly over the limit like 2000at base then yea thats diffrent but NATURAL max stats dont mean anything, evenw ith max stats u can still die, you're not invincible. i don't know why people still complain about this, yea if your in a normal game with somone maxed out using tj swords etc. that i can understand, but in ult mode? pffft cry me a river. your just proving your mad becuase either you dont have maxed stats or you want every one to play the way you want them to play, GET OVER IT< NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
