Being such a huge fan of the series, I can't actually remember which 1 is number 5. (No jokes about them being all the same).
Is it the One with whasis face and that Chocobo?

FF3 is FF6, thats why the graphics arent as good. It goes FFI,FFII,FFIII(all for famicom) then FFIV/II(Superfamicom, JP and US respectivly), FFV, FFVI/III(Superfamicom again JP and US respectivly). Then all the next gen ones were just garbage.

I knew about that, it just didn't occur to me.
So is he on about FF3 or FF6 then?

The FFIII for NES/Famicom is a great game. I played it and loved and am actually going through it again now.

I've started playing 6 again. I remember I almost completed it, didn't play it for a couple weeks and forgot where I was sposed to go and what was going on.
That also tends to happen outside the computer world as well. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah, the world of ruin is like that. Very open ended. You can get everyone back, or almost no one back(Actually, IIRC, the only people you -have- to get back are Celes(Duh), Edgar and Setzer. You can even avoid Sabin by just not going to the town he's in). ^^; I just went ahead and got everyone back when I played last time. *shrug* You know, I like it better if you -don't- save Cid. That's one of the best scenes in the game, and if you save him, you don't get it. Dude, that scene is damn near the entire -reason- for the rest of it... X_x;
