he linked to a page that had porn on it and porn banner ads. standard procedure, we ban everyone that links to porn. he knows why he was banned, an admin informed him of the reason.

a friend threatening to hack into psow thereafter also doesn't help. i mean really, that's the kind of thing we love to hear after putting in so much work into the site and providing a place for people who play pso without pay or any incentives. now why would you want to hack this site and do that to not only us, but everyone else? all the players of pso who use this site as a resource and is part of this community that is a home to many people. of course, that's the kind of stuff that makes us just want to work harder and keep the site going.

It's such a tragedy that someone gets banned because they broke the rules, so much so that we deserved to be "hacked" so that no one can use this site.

It just makes so much sense.

when you say linked to a porn site, was this an actual link he put in, or was it in his sig? or in some other way?
I can undersatnd if it was blatent, but i looked through some of his last posts and i didnt see anything. i do that, cos im assuming its something they have doen recently to get them banned. im now assuming that it was deleted to oblige the forum rules, so i probably missed it, in the sense that i couldnt see it so i wouldnt know what hed been banned for.

also i would just like to point out that if someone links to Homestarrunner (http://www.homestarrunner.com), and it links to porn, i know why, and its probably a typo. i know this cos i accidently missed out a letter in the url and ended up there. i was quite annoyed, cos alot of these sites now sign up for urls which are very similar to popular website url's, so if you accidentily enter it wrong you end up at porn. so it may be an accident in some cases. id just like to add that before you pass summary judement on someone in the future, just incase it may have been a typo.

i was just thinking, mabye i should pm a mod the wrong url, so that it could be taken into consideration if it occours again. im not trying to send you porn but im trying to clear it up. what i said was kinda vague, so that you dont have to look through all the combinations of it, but its pretty obvious as it is

we know what we saw and we removed it because it's porn. so that's why you didn't see it... >.>

no, he knew there was porn in the link, and it wasn't a typo. he specifically said there was porn at that link, even though the intent of the link was not for looking at porn. It still doesn't matter though, porn is porn, and we can't allow it here.

im not saying he did, but im saying there is a way a typo could cause you to goto porn via the homestar url. im just bringing it to your attention that its possible that could occour.

if he said the was porn in the link and so fourth well its his own fault. meh

Oh well he shall be missed I guess. Hacking thing - yea alot of people would be lost without psow. Not joking either.

just out of intrest, is there anything stopping him from simply using a new email address and resgiterign again under a new name?

Well,if he uses a constant IP (such as a Cable modem) then he can't make another screen name here and post again.
But if he uses dial-up,most ISPs make it to where you use a random IP number (AOhelL for instance) then they can't ban them completely.

I'm on these forums all the time, and I haven't seen a porn link. So the mods are doing a great job.
