Of Nintendo 59 card before anybody asks, of my main character before anybody asks, on a Japanese ship before anybody asks, not last in team before anybody asks.

My proposed solution:

1. Go mad.
2. Get very drunk (step 1+2 acheived).
3. Go mad.
4. Try deleting guildcard (nothing)
5. Go mad.
6. Back up all files on USB card. Then try pulling out card during loading and plugging in corrupt one (IT'S NOT CORRUPT DAMN YOU SEGA!)
7. Reassert self due to bout of denial.
8. Go mad.
9. Take game cube completely apart with handy game-bit screwdriver.
10. Take USB card completely apart.
11. Locate pins on USB card that tells the gamecube a card is plugged in.
12. Post to PSO World to prevent going mad. GC and USB card in pieces over floor.
13. Solder pins on GC together so it thinks a card is always plugged in.
14. Screw everything together.
15. Try getting the character screen bit then switching cards. HAHA IT DOES NOT KNOW I SWITCHED CARDS! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
16. Pray it loads my old character. If not I'll go online and try to access my bank using same method. Most of bank is backed up but not past 2 days. I found some uber stuff in past 2 days.

Wish me luck.

Ahhh poor you... but very entertaining... there is a solution for corruption involving multiplayer mode... take out the corrupted card from slot one and place in slot 2. Then place another characters memory card in slot 1. load up multiplayer mode and "quit game". This should now save over the corrupted data and everything should be back to normal again http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Now... how do I bring you back to life???

I don't know how this works. When exactly do I swap the cards? Thanks in advance.

In retrospect I should have realised this would happen ages ago. I've been FSODing on entering game all month, on every ship. Somebody told me it just happens to some people over 150, and well, it happened during save. First save too.

If I get back I won't be bringing my character online again until I have recoboxed an exact copy on my USB.

or you can go back to where you where by going online and going in a empty lobby hence no people hence you only load you...

Oh wow, 101.

Mine were 89-163. I spent 10 hours a day this week TTFing so I could be 200 before christmas. I was already sick of this game, and it seems that EVERY time I get near the absolute end of a game it conspires to delete my save file.

Dragon Quest 6, Sakura Wars 2, PSO 1+2, oh how I loved thee. To (near) the fricking bitter end.

I LOVED my FOmar more than all but ONE real people in the whole fucking world because EVERYBODY I know has utterly betrayed me this year, to the point where I'm suing one of my ex-friends via the disability rights commission over a function they have excluded me from and I don't even leave the house anymore.

Not for a month. PSO owned me, I was utterly lost and it was all I had, and now that is gone, now what? I'm 20 fricking 8 and I never imagined my life would go by that quickly. I built it up, built it up and up til I was rich and (almost) famous, then I lost all my sodding friends, everyone betrayed me, and now there is nothing left, absolutely nothing left but to grow old. Every dsodding second brings us closer to dea5th and at this age I'm terrified. Nearly half way through my life and I still feel young but I'm not, and it's unforgivingly quick, how toime goes by. Why do anything? Why do a thing if you are going to die? I wasted exactly 1% of my fucking life on this char. That number should not even BE thsat big. WE DO NOT LIVE LONG ENOUGH. It would nopt matter one iota if I died now because I don't want to spend the next 50 years in absolute terror. PSO was all that took my mind off this. I lived in PSO. Lived in it. Antares 8 is currewntly laughing behgind my back now after I left a suicide note on there, oh whee you are all so fucking big and clever.

would you mind explaining a little more Alys, I'm interested in saving a charcter of mine too, been wanting to find some sort of AR code to do it, but that doesn't seem to be happening, so anything else would be great, this char is one that I lost back in june, so I've left the mem card unused since while trying to find something to fix the data, and is it possible to copy data off the original mem card to a usb one shimarisu? and I would never do what you mentioned, thats just mean

Saving your characters is not impossible, I lost a few, and went around looking for info, some of the stuff I have posted elsewhere on this site, but I will repost my File Corruption Solutions....

Now as far as going online, yes you can lose items and character Data through FSOD, and disconnects on occassion. And also there may be times that you get booted off, only to log back in having the game tell you that you have a bad file and will have your items and challenge Data reset, in which you lose ALL ITEMS , ALL SPELLS, and all Material enhancements you have used.

And hte fact that people say that you should play on empty ships doesnt always save you from an FSOD, I have been on a completely empty block on an uninhabited ship and got frozen.. But the chances do increase if you go to full lobbies.

The Smartest thing to do is to make sure you bank all your weapons before going out to the online lobbies, since most FSOD's occur when going between lobbies, and hare very harmless, since all you lose are your unequiped items.

The Full FSOD has happened to me twice in the past 2 weeks, but I have found some ways around it, and you may want to cut and paste these two methods to get around it and save it on your computer as a text document so you don't have to go searching for it for when, not if it happens to you.

If you get the message that your memory card is corrupt or formatted for another region... do this.
(Disclaimer I got this method from these boards, I can't remember who posted it, but I thank them imensely because it saved my characters)

1. Take out the corrupt card and insert another card with PSO data on it.
2. Start an offline game all the way to the character select screen.
3. Remove the card..(do not select a character!!!!!)
4. When it says please insert memory card insert the corrupt file....Whallah your characters are healthy and alive.

I had this happen two days ago, and used this method..it does indeed work....

Also, another thing that may happen is that you get kicked off right as you are going into a game, when you log back on it tells you that your item data/ and challenge data will be initialized...
DO NOT HIT START AND ACCEPT it will clear out all of your items, and you will come back with a mag 500 mst 5 monomates and 5 monofluids.... instead

1.Pull out the memory card and hit reset (DO Not hit start to save the file
2.Make an offline multiplayer game with one of your other characters, if you don't have another character make one.
3. Transfer All items money etc. to the other character.
4. Log on with character that you just cleaned out the inventory and let it initialize the item/challenge data, you will lose whatever spells you have learned and all material enhancements, but it is better than losing all items money mags etc.
5. After char is initialized go back offline and transfer items back to character.. wha lah...not too much damage done...

Unlucky for me both of these methods were tested this last weekend when it happened to me, and like I said save this info for when...not if it happens to you especially if you are playing with a dial up connection.... I played this game for a year with none of it ever happening to me, but in the past month both have happend twice.

Wow, thanks greenie. If only I knew that before my two corruptions. It is still very helpful though. Is there something you can do to prevent losing all of your uniquipped items if you FSOD. Im too lazy to deposit all of my extra weapons EVERY single time I go to a different game.

sorry strongbad, (love that website) i havent found a way to fix that other than pulling out your memory card and killing the gamecube, and sometimes that has extremely damaging results (no more memory card) but there might be another way to do it, but i doubt it

Start over, thats life. Even if you were serious about suicide you would still be made to do it all over again. start over=happiness

Don't forget that there is still episode three on the way, so don't do the er...suicide.. thing...if you were er...serious about that.

Edit: Perhaps you should try a different memory card. I recommend the Interact card with 1000+ blocks, it is really reliable (survived 2 FSOD-X's), and most importantly, it saves very very fast. I've had this card since release of Gamecube and have experienced no problems whatsoever.
