Extra Hours-Cheating or not

I been thinking about what ive been doing and now i ask you, do you think leaving the GC/XBOX on idle and letting you characters get hours cheating? I do it since i can't play during the school week and want to get extra hours. Please give me your opinions.

PS: Isn't it true that the higher lvl, more hours you have on one character, and more times played that lvl the better chances of finding rares?

I don't think it's cheating because extra hours does not enhance your rare finding luck.

However, you will rob your cube/xbox of it's life & they'll undoubtably fail sooner than normal.

Not really. But gods. This has to be the most idiotic thing ever. What, falling asleep piping and leaving your GC on overnight because of it is cheating now? Sweet monkey Christ.

I have heard that rumor, but it is not true. You have to play get rares. I've noticed that I found more rares as I increased in levels. I find rares all the time in ultimate. I have also noticed that I find most of my rares in the forest or in the seabeds.

That rumor has been around since the DC days.. and it's definately not true. I had a RAcaseal named Pestilance on v.2 that I moddified up to 9500 hours.. and she never found anything better after the mod than before it. There was one run where I found like 16 Chainsawds in C1.. but v.1 Rares dropped like rain in v.2 Ultimate and unlike the NGC version - v.1 rares were worthless after Vhard difficulty. It was the first, and last time, something like that ever happened for me.

Basically, the more hours you have means the more time you've spent playing. The more time you're playing, the more monsters you'll be killing. The more monsters you kill - the more likely you are to find a rare item off of one of their corpses. Idling won't do anything for you.
