When west tower first came out it was back before the shop dupe method was stumbled upon. Because dupes were curved and actually valued somewhat, I was still in the trading game.

Well about west tower... the idea of adding % to my red sword made my mouth water beyond control and I went on a trading frenzie to get as many spheres as I could. I traded away ALOT of hard earned legit items, including some 10-11 star items.

Looking back, its probably safe to assume 100% of those spheres I traded for were complete dupes. For some reason it never occured to me that they would be... but I'm not going to let it get to me, and I'm not stupid enough to throw away all of my weapons because they've somehow become 'tainted'.

But the problem is that I've found some new weapons that really need some %. Having tasted 100% attrib I've finding it very difficult to resist the urge to trade in Vega again. But when I think about trading away hard earned shit for duped spheres that the duper never really lost out on to begin with, I kinda get burned up a little. And the evil thought pops into my mind "why not cut out the middle man and dupe em myself?"

I've been down that road with duping and stat maxing, and it lead me to deleting my 350 hour lvl 154 character, because I was so disgusted with myself. I've recovered and I'm level 182 now... I've moved past that.

But........ Spheres... omg I want to crunch them up and snort them @_@. I dont even know what I'm asking for with the thread.. If i'm asking anything at all. *shrugs*. Advice maybe? Is there a help center? SA for Spheres Anonymous?

(BTW: The first dozen people who usually respond with "Another thread like this?" or "Just play it how you like it! Dupe!" you don't have to make those posts. They're unnecessary since the thread usually continues without you NE way. Okay?)

Think about adding percents as a long term goal. You really don't need the additional percents but they would certainly be cool. Keep on keeping on & add the percents when you can.

Well, you can just ask me to give them to you for free...I have 64...(I did not dupe these, and I only dupe for myself..). Just kidding.

You could just well...err. =/ Can tell you find a nice duper to them for you. Hmm...I don't know man. My only advice is for you to continue doing what you were doing to obtain them. BUT at the sametime maintaining your urge to want more. Because if you over extend your inventory for spheres, you're going to find yourself with a extremely limited supply of 'weapons'. I will indeed use myself as an example.

I traded my god ability/arm/all my powers/mind for pretty all the sword type weapons a hunter can use. Then I traded THEM for dagger types. FSOD took most of these. I traded the last of my stash for S-reds.


Guess what weapon I had left?

S reds. And all cause I went on a trading frenzy, and wanted STUFF! >_<


To cope, =/ I went legit at that time and accepted the use of 9/10 star weapons, until good rares starting dropping. Btw this was about 8 months ago.

yeah.. long term is a better way to think of it... but spheres are 5% more effecient that using 20 drops... maybe just using drops is worth it cause I dont have to go 100 drops before getting some kind of reward for my efforts.

I don't see much of a problem here... trading is a legitimate way to acquire items (hence the built-in trade window), and as long as you make a fair trade, why feel guilty at all about using duped spheres? You didn't dupe them yourself right? You got them in a legit fashion, right? You traded your hard-earned legit items for them, right? You would be doing nothing wrong or outside the game's parameters by trading legitimately and using duped spheres. My problem with trading with dupers...

Duper's inventory before trade:
10 Spheres

My inventory before trade:
Meteor Cudgel
God/HP
God/Arm
30x Power Mats

Dupers Inventory after trade:
10 spheres
Meteor Cudgel
God/HP
God/Arm
30x Power Mats

My inventory after trade:
10 Spheres.

See what I mean? I would be giving him items in vain, because he's never losing out no matter what he throws up there. Thats why my friend was able to trade a red ring for an add slot. Who knows how valueable photon spheres would be if there was no duping... Maybe offering what I did for 10 spheres is a joke, and realistically I'd be lucky to get 2 for that. It makes a HUGE difference... ESPECIALLY since one of the biggest varialbes balancing PSO's gameplay is rarity of an item.

Trading with a duper means finding what he has waaaaaayyy easier then you're supposed to. That's what's wrong with it. In the trade system, some items are supposed to be almost as hard to find as the ones monsters can drop. So the fun of finding it and coming to terms on the trade is gone to duping...
Also, the duper will simply dupe some more spheres and laugh about how he ripped me off.
Plus, if I would accept dupes like that, I might as well dupe the shit myself. (I know how to do it but never feel the need)
