Translucent red weapons?

This is a question to those of you who have played Ep. 3 Trail/Full. On some Trial movies, I've seen Arkz characters whose weapons are a translucent red. Now, I know Rio's Yasminkovs are a little rusty, but red like THAT? Why is that, and more importantly, is it in the full version?

That's their "default" weapon, since Arkz cant equip weapons.

Well, I figured THAT, it's the only weapon they CAN use. I want to know why they don't look like they do in Episode 2.
