I wanted to know do you need the online hook up to play the Phantsy star online game or can you play it without that thing im just was wondering.

xbox LIVE is mandatory to play the game. either offline or online.
I have heard that xbox Live comes with PSO if you buy the $50 (or $60?) package that includes a year of XBL, but I have personally not looked so I couldn't tell you for sure

I have it also, and yes you do have to pay a hunters license as well as your xbox live fee.

You should be able to find the game for pretty cheap now, anyway, though. Around the $20 range. So find a Ver. 2 starter kit ($50) and the game and you'll be set. Or you could get the Ver. 3 kit that comes with with the full ver. of MechAssault ($60 or $70, I forget) instead, whatever.

Steer clear of Apatite unless you want the most powerful weapons (read: heavily hacked and duped) and also have the highest chance of losing any unequipped items in your inventory.

You dont need broadband to use XBOX live...although it is recommended for other games. I was running PSOX with a ISDN connection through my PC for ages....works fine.

I've read about that, using a 56K modem through your computer and use an ethernet connection between the PC and the XBox... you'd be using ICS to trick the X-Box into thinking you were really using broadband but weren't.

Then said individual goes to a friends house to make the account, like me :0 heh, worked for me, but anyway, you get one month free of PSO, and even if you don't pay a HL, you can still play offline like myself, occasionally getting online.

You get two months free on the Xbox version, actually. The two months doesn't start until you actually buy a Hunter's License, though.

yup I'm on there, usually hanging around Celestite 8 or Dav 10, 12 where ever. I swear the hangouts change every day so I'm always following people :P.

Just look for a character named Ami or ChibiRobo or whatever other character I am using heh. I play too much :P
