The Luck stat only affects your chances at getting a critical, nothing more.

Luck is only good for increasing your critical hit %. Like in most rpg's.

The only relation between luck and finding rares is that increasing luck requires finding Luck Material, and as you play and find this, you are also likely to advance in the game. When you reach ULT, your luck is probably significantly raised. On ULT you also find more rares, but that goes even if you didn't use any of those Luck Materials you found.

So although your luck and your chance to find rares both increase, the only relation between them is they both occur with the passage of time...

Luck stat on your character determines how often you score criticals when you make physical attacks.

It doesn't have to do with anything when trying to find rares.

You could say that your own, RL luck determines how lucky you are at getting rares, avoiding FSOD, avoiding corruption, getting a good map for CMode on the first time, winning the lottery, etc...

Anyways, good luck nonetheless. ^-^)/

I don't agree (for a change). Luck also increases your odds of not receiving a critical hit. It does not affect rare drops that's for sure, but I'm sure there's more to it than just that.

Explain what you mean by that.

I think Kefka means when an enemy hits you, its less chance of a critical for them.

Yes. "Succumb" if you have played Shining Force III http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Enemies have their own luck stat that determines that. If it did work that way, then enemies with high luck would be getting much criticals from you, which it doesn't seem to work that way.

Why not ? For instance in SFIII, enemies have their own luck, which affect both their and you criticals, and your luck stat affects both your and their criticals.
Is it clear ? I wonder http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I understand what kefka is saying.

My FOnewearl has some pretty low luck, and just about every other attack i recieve from an enemy is a critical on me.

Whereas my HUmar's luck is over 55 and he get's little to no critical hits against him.

Uhh, yeah. Main reason I wrote it out that complicated is that I remember this thread where someone asked whether leaving his game on when he goes to sleep to get more game-hours is cheating. He seriously thought game-hours increased his chances of finding rares. The same sort of story goes for that situation...
