... everyone telling one another to die these days? I ticks me off because it is very infantile and death is never the answer. Instead of trying to discuss your problems with someone like a human being, you just tell them to die. What's with people these days?

DIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, would you yell, "I hope you get hurt very badly!" while running at someone and brandishing a sword?

Die Pink $I-I17

It's just a figure of speech. It's intent is to say " Leave me alone." or " Fuck off. "

he knows this, but he means that society is getting more and more desensitized about serious things (i.e. death) and more violent. with many people now, death seems to be the answer, but then you start to think PAST just getting rid of your problem, cuz if you were to kill someone, A) if you had a conscience it would eat away at it, and/or B) get you killed yourself, or be hunted down by police/family/friends.

over here, if you tell someone to die, you better be willing to do it to them, because thats a sure-fire way to get beaten down to near-death. (at least thats how it is with me http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

Death and violence existed before GTA.
Well, whether you were sarcastic or not, it doesn't really matter. Now, this whole thing about telling people to "Die!" is nothing new. It didn't even start 100 years ago... no, much much older than that.

It was just said differently.
I don't see the different between back then and right now, in that regard.

I don't know... maybe this whole feeling of the "degredation of society" has to do with the youth of humans starting naive in the ways of the world. That's not to say you are all naive, but as young children, you have to admit that humans are just that.

As they see more of reality, so does their perception of their world change, hence this feeling of a social degredation. Even today's children, who are supposedly at the brink of desensitization, will see things when they are adults that they will not like.

And it's things that exist today, and have existed in the past. A big part is that different people find different things offensive.

At least that's my quick take on it.

Society as a whole has become more and more decencitized(spelling?) to many things including death.

i.e. It was a broadcasting plan of many large television broadcasters to air executions on t.v. back in the 70's but back then no one would hear of it, so they saw that they needed to bring it to that point. Now mind you, this isn't true anymore, they don't need to do that to make money, just back then they wanted something new.

I meant that whenever someone dislikes another person (both here and in real life) they always say," I hope you die!" or "Go kill yourself!" It makes me mad not because death is a serious issue, but because it shows how close-minded and simple those people really are. What makes it even worse is that the comments usually come from people who think they are smarter or better than anyone else. If you're so smart, then why are you telling people to die instead of discussing your problems like the intelligent person that you claim to be?

hmm, let's take this to its logical conclusion, shall we?

"i'm so angry with you. Your not listening to me! If I don't vent I'm gonna explode!!! That's it!!!! ... I feel your issue has deeply affected me and is incongruent with the facts I have been exposed to. Let us parlay and find an equitable ground in which we can both find concurance or otherwise a means to agree to disagree. Afterwards let me work with you on a plan to alter your lifestyle habits to foster a long a fruitful life. Thank you and have a nice day."

Dude, your honestly expecting a lot from people when they're angry. It doesn't make any sense. It's ok to feel anger and express it in a non-violent way. It's ok to curse here and there. It's not ok to rely on it as the means of first and last resort, true. But please, people are not gonna be talking like this anytime soon. Switching from passionate Human to dispassionate Vulcan ain't our style. Deal with it - because in truth the world is not gonna have it any other way.

You're right; death isn't the answer.

Death is the question, yes is the answer.

Most of the people I've heard say it were not angry; they just didn't like someone. Besides, you make it sound like all humans are capable of are emotional outbusrts and that is not the case. Also what you have said above is not what I invisioned when I said," People should discuss their problems."

As my brother said a long time ago...

Violence is not the answer. It is the question, and the answer is yes.

The similarity is striking...
