I was in a JP game a while back when we got the game, and after the battle the guy started talking about his VIP card, and did we want to use it, and I was fairly tired at the time and a complete newbie, so I just followed him up the the counter where the guy said he handles office work. I had no idea what was going on, but then we entered an auction. I noticed I had points, and had to spend them. Where I got the points I had little idea, I didn't know much about the game at the time. The first card was actually egg rappy, and there were other rares. I didn't win and it sort of slipped my mind afterwards because I was playing so much, but recently my boyfriend needled me to look it up and I did. I lifted this post pretty much wholesale off a Japanese site:

After battling online, at the point you get your pack of cards, a VIP card may occur, although rarely. This is an invitation to the auction stage.
Just one of these online-only cards can be used to invite four people. It's also OK to call your friends. You can even invite people while in the lobby. You can enjoy an auction where you might get a rare card.

Process of auction:

Hand your VIP card in at the counter (this is the office counter where the guy says he handles vital affairs). Within a time limit, bet points on the card you want. When the auction starts, equal points are distributed among players, so bet on the ones you want. The player who placed the highest points will win the auction. When more than one player has the same highest points bid, the others can get the cards too, so it's best to compare notes. (Note, thisworks because the first card might be rare, so you gotta decide whether to place all bets on it, but the next card might be even better, so it's a gamble.)

So what's stopping your 4 friends from bidding a point each on every card and walking away with 4 copies of every rare put up for auction?

You cant set a determinate points
you have min and max min is 0 max is fixed you can have 8 points max to set for specific card and other player can have more or less . So you cant set 1 points to all cards.

Ahh, I see. Makes sense then. I was thinking you set before every rounf, so that the players could jsut say "umm, I'm going to bid 1 on this one, and 2 on the next". Alright.

I had a go at this on the trial, but so far haven't had/seen anyone with a V.I.P. card. Are they ridiculously rare or something? And are they only valid for 1 auction? Or once you have 'em, you can use 'em as much as you like (which would explain their ridiculous rarity http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif )
