That is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot of stupid things. The servers may go down for a few seconds for the new years' lobbies, but they're not taking it down because of the dupers and hackers. Don't believe everything your friends tell you.

Well it is possible that sonic team would take the servers down and put new ones up to help prevent even more hacking.... ever know with them lol
