kinda late story to tell, but meh. Me and my parents were coming home after xmas day and we stopped at a nursing home to check on a friend's mom. anyway, we eventually found her, said merry christmas etc., and as we were about to leave, she told me i was pretty... so i politely said thank you, not thinking much of it. then she went on to say, "Yes... your a pretty girl."

-is still disturbed- and no, im not female... and no i dont look like one either. the insanity!

My chrurch used to sing at retirement homes all the time so i know what its like...

U sit their and take what ever they say.. But in your mind you wanna say the most horrible things possible.. like... (its nice to know you have so an open since of hummor, especialy when your livin in a place people go to die...)

I've been told I look pretty by an elderly relative, took it as a good compliment.

Not like many of them can help it, some days they are as sharp as a tack, some days they just get alittle fuzzy. That's just how it goes. Guess you have to learn to appreciate the things they say and not take it like some stomp to your ego.

My grandma with Alzheimer's mistook me for a girl too once (she also doesn't have good eyesight), and basically told me that I wasn't that good looking of a girl.

My Grandmother on my Dad's side used to walk araound in a black Aretha Franklin wig and white night gown shooting BB's at his friends for trying to steal her potato chips...

She also used to make Vodka cubes for her iced tea.

When she lived in an aprtment, she never threw ANYTHING away; she had DAILY newspapers from 1974-1996 stacked so high she couldnt reach her bathroom.

She walks around the rest home singing JUST THE HARMONY to old showtoons.

My entire family is either certifiably crazy (we have the papers!)or dead.

but not all old people are like that... rest homes are basically tombs with a nice view and really S____Y customer service...

So the next time you feel the urge to brutally spork-slap to death that old bag paying for a months worth of groceries with pennies, just remember:

Someday that will be you

AND

They often have uptight relatives who will prosecute.
