well, pso is addictive!
once you've learnt better strategies & have better weapons, equipements, meet the right group of ppl, etc.. it becomes even more addictive..

It certainly would be interesting to have more of something. On the other hand, it could be the simplicity that gets people hooked so easily. Take Tetris for example. That game sold Game Boys by the hundreds. It's still popular, even today. Very repetitive, but it draws people in because it's so simple. It makes it easy to learn and easy to accel. That's why so many people get hooked.

Ya no dought it needs more stuff but if xbox/GC does what it is supposed to do and make more quests and other things over a period of time the game will be phienomonal.. (and fixes some of the bugs http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif ) but all and all i think it will improve greatly over time...

I agree however I must say that Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion and Half-Life still have me hooked and look at their ages. It's games that have lots of randomness and multiplayer options that make the winners. Pretty graphics and sound do nothing but add to what was already there. The greatest games are the ones where you can meet friends and play with them for years to come. This is only for games with multiplayer however. Some games make singleplayer fun by a great storyline or addictive gameplay. I find PSO fun both online and offline, though online is more fun.

I remember when PSO first came out (DC), there was a HUcast named Jauro online and he played the game for 72 hours straight with minimal sleep. He said he skipped school to play it.

He was already level 80/90 within the first week or so that it came out (US).

Well, I don't know the exact details, but I think on XBox they have something called Nightmare difficulty that's worse than Ultimate. Go get that one....

Wow, they even put it out on Super Nintendo? That MUST have sucked big-time. Populous (I mean the very first one, not "Populous: The Beginning") without a mouse is impossible to play! I had it on my Atari ST (8MHz M68000 processor) and on the real big maps by the end of the game you could see it had slowed down significantly. I don't know what's in the super Nintendo, but it must have been something similar

I don't remember it slowing down too much on Super Nintendo. It wasn't really that hard to play without a mouse, but I don't know any other way since I never played it on computer altho I was aware it was a computer game long before it was brought to the SNES...cool game either way tho...

About the "NIGHTMARE" difficulty, I would be suprised if the person who claimed that has actually ever played the Xbox version cuz they're just blowing smoke out their ass...

You know what was cool in Populous was lowering the ground all the way and watching your people with just their head and arms above water before they eventually drowned.... Maybe I was a sick kid I dunno
