Poetry has rules; it has form, beats, measures and most importantly it has MEANING.

It is also usually VERY pretentious and stuffy.

Rap would probably be more akin to prose (and LOOSELY so at that).

Ah well, no accounting for taste... to each his own.... no matter how wrong they are...
