I don't know if this is in the right place and if this has any relevance so please feel free to move or lock this topic.

I am a very unhappy person. I just lost all of my rares to FSOD. I lost my legit gi-gue bazooka, god/* units, shield of delsaber, Diwari (0/45/150/0), heaven's punisher, and the list goes on.

It was my first time online too!

Thats why I back up my legit rares that I use....ever since the first day I got online and got FSODed........

Yep, backing up rares is definitely recommended. I've lost two psycho wands now, and I'm on my third. God only knows how much meseta I've lost to it. As you can see in my sig, 17 fsods. 16 of them were lobby-join, so I assume they were all forced by some sort of user. Darn you lobby FSODers!

Edit: I also remember that I lost a cute little Ila that was gonna be my mag for when I got to level 200. It died before its time, and Ila II is in the works. (I'm gonna make it a devil wing too)

I don't think cutting him/herself or killing themselves was ever in the picture to begin with. Thank you for showing you care, though.

Actualy they are smart enough not to have it go back to the last save. That would be a major dupe-hole!
However, I am still puzzled why they just seem to be unable to prevent FSOD. Especialy the forced FSOD we see some assholes use. That's a message that comes across the network. Should be easy to catch, even server-side...

I doubt that all of those 16 were lobby FSODers. FSOD upon entering a lobby is pretty common in lobbies where a lot is happening. This seems especialy true for people with dial-up connections.

Oh, and of course Aeryn, I am sorry for the loss. If it was upon entering a lobby, it's actualy kind of your own fault. When going to the lobby, make sure everything of value is in your store. Sadly, lobby FSOD is pretty common. So better be prepared.

And it would be greatly appreciated if morons like SpikeOtacon and L0V3J00CIE would keep their flame war to themselves and actualy try to be a little more constructive...

They probably all weren't lobby fsod incidents, as I was on 56k for a month and will be during the week due to a crappy college firewall. But I do know that some of them were. Some punk who shall remain nameless admitted that he was fsoding people in the lobby I was trying to join in one instance. The main thing I do to try to prevent this now is to not join ant 8-1 or 8-2.

Edit: this topic is gonna be locked soon...better to keep flamewars to the PM system.

If the 11 block char data file were to become seperate char data files for each char,
1: The game wouldn't take more memory then is needed if you only want one char,
2: You wouldn't have to buy additional memory cards if you still have plenty of space on a memory card, and
3: Corruptions couldn't affect any more than 1 char.

That way, if my friend was stupid enough to power off during a save again, I wouldn't be the one suffering for it.

Yes, corruption bites. Hard. I know excatly what you've been through. I've had 2 corruptions, one on my main memory card, and then the other my friend carelessly caused on my other card to what data I still had left. I'm down to scratch now. The only good point I can find, is that I'll be able to make it to Ultimate at a low level now.

EDIT: Eh, it's 11 blocks not 4 for character data. My bad.
