I am wondering why are all of the Episode 1 and 2 files on the disc for Episode III? They arent needed and you cant use them anywhere right?
Also does anyone know what a staffroll emblem is on Episode III? It says that and lists all the section IDs.

No idea, on why the e1&2 files are there.
The staffroll could be something to do with the credits. I remember when you beat the Story mode, it has a 3d model of your Section ID badge spinning.

Sorry n00b at work:
All the files? As in the entire game?! On the Ep3 disc?! Would ST be that stupid? Can't be! That would be a waste of money. Then again ST likes to waste money:

Whatever Section ID you have for your main character is the section ID that spins when you beat the game... That's about it.

Yes I think the entire game Episode I and II is on it. I didnt look at every single file but I see tons and tons of files that are on Episode I and II and have nothing to do with III.
Example The bosses like Dragon and so on also Forest and Caves and all that stuff. Weapon shop, Item shop... there arent any on III.

Weird, very weird.
So if all the Ep1&2 files are on it. ST could have released Ep3 like C-Mode on DC ver.2. Ep3 would have been an additional gaming mode, like Battle and C-Mode was for DC ver.2. So what could have been one CD (Plus and Ep3) they decided to put on two? Plus to big(because of the additional offline quests and Ep2 C-Mode?)? Is any Seat of the Heart info or Ep2 C-Mode on the Ep3 disc Halla?
Ep3 players get access online to some Ep1&2 stuff in the future? Is that why it is on it? Or they just started early on making all 3 episodes fit on one disc for a future re-release? Or for the USA/EU release of Ep3?

Hehe, indeed weired:)
Another thing im wondering about every day is: "Why, of all things, is the same wordselect in epi3 like in epi1+2 ???
I mean, wheres the point to call out: "Cast Ryuker >Everybody", or "Please clear the trap", or the option for grinded weapons, like "RedGun +99 is useless", or "Iīll generate the Photon Blast> Everybody", in Episode 3?
That are only some examples. I really wouldnt need that in episode 3,lol.
The whole wordselect is the same, if you are on Epi1+2 ships, and it changes to another word select if you go to epi 3 ships...Im really wondering why this is...
I saw this with the E code...

The files are probably there because they are still in use in Episode 3. All of the character models, items, monsters etc are still being used. The areas too, Seaside, Forest. Word select is probably the same because Episode 1&2 will probably send a code like
1=Hello
2=Good bye
etc
So the word selects have to be in the same place and therefore intact so no errors are produced. Staff roll is probably the same people so why change it? In the staffroll, does it include the movie, or just the list of people?

No I dont think it has stuff that would be on Plus. And not all of it is needed. It has files like Itemrt which says what items you get where and so on. Also like said Word Select is the same. I guess Sega is just lazy. They couldnt even update the word select so that it relates to Episode III unless they are waiting for English version to update it. Who knows.

my wild guess:
working process and changed plans.
maybe ep3 was planned as some sort of ver2 disk, but then they decided to do a plus and release ep3 seperately.
just think about the blind spot in ep2-barba ray - there was a blind spot at de rol le's raft as well in v2 and they edited it out. must have been copy and paste when working on barba, before they fixed it.

Who knows Sega is lazy.
Also when you go online can you get into the Episode 1 and 2 lobbies. Because you were supposed to be able to do this. So maybe they planned on letting you play 1 and 2 online, but they also have offline files so still doesnt make sense.

This is quite...odd.
I wish we had more information WHY, but oh well http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
maybe its a secret http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
"in the future... battle dark falz with your amazing cards!!!" "swim with de rol le with your own monsters!"

Well, the only problem with that theory is that all the Boss music is missing (If the person below is right).
Well, I'm pretty sute all the Forest, Caves, Mines, Ruins, CCA (including all outlying areas) and the seabeds, and ALL boss music are missing as well.
But the Battle mode music is on the disc (VR areas) so maybe it was supposed to be compatible with the Ep. 1 and 2 BA mode?

Hallo wrotes:
"So maybe they planned on letting you play 1 and 2 online, but they also have offline files so still doesnt make sense."
I believe something like that too...Too many coinicendes.
Why the thing with the IDīs if the do absolutley nothing. That ST is lazy, sure, but like Halla says, it contains data that is absolutley not needed. And the areas, well, wich area is the same like in epi 1+2? They are all altered, or not. I bet that are again completley other level files.
That the word select is there, ok, i understand this now i guess. What would happen if some epi 1 user says something like" I cast Shifta", and we with epi3 dont have the same chat. We just couldnt see anything they write, ok, problem 1 solved.
And you cannot be that lazy that you simply put the hole game on the cd, only because you need 10% of the files from it. You would have to alter all the code from epi3 and from epi 2, if that should work.
Im no programming guru, but i know some of it, and i dont see any advantadge from it. Its not so that ST only have the code on a cd,or in one single piece of code, they could put the needed classes on cd only too, without problems, and a lot quicker if im not wrong.
Somebody explain to me plz, if im not correct.
Are you sure the data is actually there? Maybe they're just 0 byte placeholders?

No im sure its there I can view the data

The answer is "why not?". Some of the Episode I & II info is used in III and the GameCube disk holds 1.5 gigs whether you use it or not so why not just copy it all over and use what's needed? Video games always come with unused pieces of code, items, and stuff burried inside them.
