Navi's gonna be jealous BUT...

My brother-in-law, Jared (not to be confused with my brother-in-law, Kirk, who created Dragoon) got bored and randomly decided to make a wall paper featuring Meira. Which kinda surprises me, because usually when he's bored, he makes music videos...

In any case, he used to play PSO back in the Dreamcast days, but has been far and away from it for some time, except that he rather enjoys my Recollection series.

So anyway, since the picture is so large, I'll drop a link, instead of stuffing it into the thread.

Did your brother just assemble the image or did he draw the the character as well. I like the energy in the pose. I am a bit curious about the color. It looks like the origional was just simple black and white lines from MS Paint with color carefully put over it. What program was used to color it, if it was photoshop or anything that supposrts layers you can set the options of the layer to a setting called "Multiply." This allows darker colors to show through anything over it. Like black lines from an image for example. But the softness in this case may be a better look for it in the case. Oh and clever use of the Mag pic, hehe.

I believe he drew most of everything himself. Not sure what his technique was, but odds are, he used Jasc Paintshop Pro for the color. You're probably right about his technique, though.

Though the MAG was just a picture he had (originally, he had an Apsaras there instead of a Varaha, and he promptly replaced it when we talked about it last night). I'm guessing that he snagged the face in the background from my personal photo here on PSO World. Everything else is his own work though, including the PSO font letters in the background, which he drew in manually, because he couldn't immediately find the font files.

lol... The only problem with that picture, is that the screenshot was taken through a Composite video connection, so it's kinda fuzzy... Then again, I suppose that could be delt with, considering the situation... I could sent it to him and see what he thinks! o_O

Oh yeah, and a note to Recollection readers out there... Sooner or later, a FOnewearl named "Shalan" is going to pop up in the series... Shalan was created by the brother-in-law that drew this particular picture... And Dr. Oscar was made by his twin brother. So the creators of Dragoon, Dr. Oscar and Shalan are all brothers.

Now that's impressive stuff! Not only is the art quality itself good, I like the fact that Meira's equipped with a "normal-series" Photon weapon instead of the Rarez-of-the-Week. A subtle point, but one worth making.

Of course, those Blades are color-coordinated with her overall look, but hey. ^_^
