I think the website uses a HMTL code or something which allows images only to be saved as Bitmap files (Paint) instead of JPG or GIFs. Now this 'HTML' code continues to work even on other sites, but only AFTER I visit PSOW. I have to restart my PC in order to save other images on other websites as their usual JPG or GIF filetypes.
So is there any way to prevent this 'HTML code' from leaking? Or is it just a cookie or something?? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/spam.gif

It's your browser being shitty. There's nothing webmasters can do about it...

I've found that the best way to get by that bug is to first select save as... If it comes up as a .bmp click cancel. Use the back button to go back a page (if possible) then the forward button to return to the image. Save as... again and this time it should be the correct file type. If that doesn't work, or you can't back up from the image, try copying the URL, pasting it, then press Enter (or Go) and then try saving it.

I've tried that, it didn't work. Is it a browser bug, or is some sort of security setting?

It requires too much work. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif That's what I'm stuck doing, too....damn the rotten luck.

Why the hell does PSOW wants you to save all the images on the forum as BMP anyways? It's the most annoying thing on this site ever! Maybe even the only one!! >_<

You lose quality if you do that. Sometimes it comes out looking well enough but at other times you end up with something under par.

Read my post again, smarty-pants. IT IS NOT THEM, IT'S YOU.
Scratch that - I say you go and sue Gamespy. I try to save sigs, they work. I try to save PSOW pics, they don't work. But then again, there's nothing the webmasters here can do about it. I'm pretty sure it's the way the Gamespy server operates...

Its the web-browser, not the website's fault. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

If you use Photoshop you can convert from BMP to GIF without losing quality...

Here's what I do when I want to steal something off the net.
Make a simple little HTML file in Notepad consisting of the following--
{HTML}
{A HREF="[insert object's URL here]"}anything{/A}
{/HTML}
After you've saved the file, open it in your browser, right-click and save as. Whatever it is, you'll download it.
You'll want to replace the {} with <>, of course.
