offline item trading?

Is there any way to trade items between characters on two VMUs w/o having 2 DCs online?

The only way to do it is start a game online, either give the items to a friend or get someone to sit in your game while you d/c and reload your other guy and pick up the items. That is the only way I know of to do it.
