I'm looking to buy an adapter for the GC to play online. Now..I wanted broadband..but..I have to have a broadband internet connection..which I don't, right? Now, I was wondering if any of you could give me your opinion. Should I purchase the broadband and adapter? Or is a regular modem adapter fine? I'd really like it to be fast. Also, could anyone tell me about how much it would cost me for the pso account, and the broadband a month? Seeing how I'd have to pay it all myself.
P.S. I'd really like to have some chatting buddies. So if any of you have aim. Just im me sometime.

You shouldn't buy a broadband JUST to play PSO. But if you use the internet a lot (Browsing, onlin PC gameplay, download music/movies), then broadband is a must have just by itself (not even thinking about PSO). In the end, BBA users have a lot smaller chance of FSODing than those that use modem adapters. Just keep in mind that once you switch to broadband, you WILL NOT be able to tolerate modems anymore because of the large difference between the two (This is in terms of just internet).

I'm having the same exact problem as you right now. At first I wanted the Broadband adapter too, but upon realizing it'd be just too expensive, I decided I'll try for the 56K. I can't help you out with the total price of Broadband and the Hunter's license (sorry) but I do know it costs $8 monthly for the License. Having just broadband alone is really pricey I've been told. Also if you're wondering about speed, my best friend has dial-up with the 56K modem and it's still pretty quick. Everyone I've asked about the difference in speed says thae Broadband is hardly faster then a modem anyways. If I were you, I'd just go with the 56K modem and a Hunter's License. Hope this helps.
P.S.:
I have AIM and have no problem if you want to talk online sometime. My s/n is Laquatus18. Later.

Like said above, Broadband is great if you spend a lot of time online; don't just buy it for PSO.
There is a huge speed difference in normal things (such as PC online gaming and downloads) between 56k and Broadband. You can't go back to dial-up after switching, believe me. I have for a short time, and found myself finding other things to do ( http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif ). Part of this was due to the frequent disconnecting, the other ppart was due to the speed at pages loaded.

Im guessing here but I expect the Broadband to be alittle more than dail up so around $35 to $40. I have dail up and Im surprised how fast it plays. I had Broadband but money got tighter so I had to get dail up. There is a differance but not enough to get broadband If don't already have it

Meh, I have access to a T1 connection at school and I still manage to come home and tolerate my pathetic, uber-crappy dialup speed I get on MSN.(It's bad, even for dialup)
PSO-related, I don't notice that much trouble... I haven't FSODed in about a month. The main issues are waiting forever for it to connect, and then waiting forever for quests to load. (Oh god, once my connection was so bad it took 5 minutes to load Seat of the Heart. Usually it only takes 2 or so) I get some lag, but so does everyone else, and it's not usually too bad.
