Questioning legitimate items...

I recently obtained a Spread Needle, which totally rocks, but the question is whether this item is a legitimate item. I've seen some recent posts with people fussing about Spread Needles, which makes me wonder about it. Anything regarding this will be truly helpful, as I do not wish to have illegitimate items in my inventory or on my person.

Unfortunately if it was given to you, or you got it in a trade with someone you don't know in real life, chances are it's a dupe.


If you stole it, it's almost definately a dupe.

Well, from what I hear, the Spread Needle is perfect for offline play, since it enables you to quickly go unlock all the areas. It's a findable weapon, which means it's legal. It's also been duped to heck too. ^_^;

Online, however, is a different matter. The Spread Needle is a very unbalanced weapon, as in, it's a handgun which can be used by any class, hits like a shotgun, and it's special is paralysis, plus, it does way too much damage too. Quite a unbalanced weapon, you see? Thus, if you're planning to play online, you may want to keep the spread in the bank. ^_^

Many people simply don't like it for it's cheapness in killing things too quickly. Finding rares quickly, however, the Needle may be a good idea to use. ^_^; I dunno...

Anyone else have any thoughts on it?

If you were given a Spread Needle, it's a duplicated or hacked item. Spread Needles can be found legitimately, but they're rare enough that no one who found one legitimately would simply give it away.

Actually, some people would give away a true rare item if it's not really that great an item in and of itself, but the Spread Needle is too good to just give away.

If you're not comfortable with having an illegitimate item, drop it or sell it or give it away.

True enough, it does some awesome damage... I traded a few of my rares to obtain it, so it wasn't given to me. Well, I'll be a good guy and keep it offline. Thanks for all the comments and advice!

Now, I can't agree with that statement...
I've found a spread needle before, and I gave the thing away.

It just wasn't something I wanted, so why keep it? I refuse to use it online, along with playing w/ others that use them.

As for offline...I just don't play offline much, it's boring.

So why would I keep it?

I'm using it offline to find specific rares. After much deliberation, I decided to make finding cells easier, though I like my crappy Double Saber better =)

Hey, the post was to see if the damned thing was a legit item, not to have some people haze me because I use it. And no, I didn't know that the stupid thing was duped, as I don't have the time to do such a silly thing.
