View Full Version : Doesn't FKL kinda suck mad ass now?

-Luke-
Feb 25, 2004, 12:45 PM
Yeah. Don't vote unless you've been in FKL for more than a month. I'm not trying to break Abdur's Law, just I want feedback from people who knew FKL before. And we thought it blew a week or two ago...

Although some funny people (to me) are missing (except Uncle, Outrider, Blitz, Saiffwin, -Luke-, Ketchup, Kiz, mods and some others, which is a lot btw), I voted no, this place has to keep its funny aspect IMO, because after all it's just a trash forum.

Kizaragu
Feb 25, 2004, 01:39 PM
It does suck, yes.
BUT not as much as a few months ago.
That's my opinion. It is getting better.
(But to be honest I haven't really been around of late)

The_Pea_Guy
Feb 25, 2004, 01:42 PM
I disagree. I still think the funny members here remain. (except for Dime.)

What puts me off about this place is the fact that some people here complain about that FKL is no longer gonna be funny over the fact that so-and-so left this forum.

Still wanna make FKL funny? Then make the effort by posting funny topics to make it still funny.

FKL needs you!

End of philosophy for today.

Well it definitely seems like there's more substance to these topics now, instead of just random letters.
I'd call that an improvement.

But no more Dime. That's like -5 points or something.

Kizaragu

Come on now, Dime wasn't all that great.
He made me laugh everynow and then, but he didn't do anything groundbreaking.
I will miss him, but come on guys... GET OVER IT! :p

Ok, we'll make a deal. Two more days.

I always get so bitchy about this topic >_<

FKL has improved in the past week (less than 1241251356136123623623677 new threads a day http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif )

I vote yes, despite the hypocrisy.

I agree.

Also, this place has its up's and down's.
I say this is a down, at least for a little bit. It will probably pick up a lot soon.

Allos
Feb 25, 2004, 03:52 PM
Shit. I just got that cheesy crap from Cheetos all over my shirt.

Anyway, FKL is structured like this now, IMO:

Senior Members(6+ months of FKL)-Good threads

Members(2+ months)-Ok to Good threads

Recruits(1+ month)-threads range

FKL noobs(15-30 days)-mostly ok to crappy threads

PSOW noobs-Crappy threads

And I'm not trying to break Abdur's Law either, but even if we don't recognize it, FKL has it's own little world.

Saiffy
Feb 25, 2004, 04:14 PM
FKL is a lot better then before(ie. the coming of Abdur's Law)

Sooner or later someone will take Dimes place

Well, generally, people that have been in FKL longer will end up making funnier and better topics. And GENERALLY (no insults to FKL noobs here), noobs will just post something like A"SDFASFJASDFJKASDF over and over until you or eRUPT comes and kills their post because they screwed up the whole post on their own.

Asuka was complaning about the same -fucking- thing... =(

Anywho, I sorta do have to agree with Asuka.
People of the past really did have a lot of personality and character to themselves. Okay, let's go back about half a year ago.

Trickstr - Jester, humor relief

Obscenity - Loves everyone's mom

Dime - dirty bastard, Obscenity wannabe, loves everyone's mom

Uncle - Everyones Uncle and wanted rubbies

Mimicr - Little newbie that everyone made fun of for making an insane amount of posts

Asuka_Chan - The smart one with a decent amount of intelligent in her posts.

I never really got to know Spy, but from what I've seen in the Jesus Christ thread that was moved away, he's not as bad as some of you make him sound ...

So, yeah, *drops two pennies*
*votes "In ridiculious amounts, yes", and runs off to M/Q/I/SIC*

Doesn't anyone realise that times change? If we're going by when the forum was best for each individual person, it was back over two years ago, when people like Blackrose, Psylocke, Celestial, Guile and Wobuffet(and countless others) were around all the time, and where everything had content and some interest, and where discussions and debates lasted up to 10+ pages.

For every person any of you mention who is gone and had personality, I can list twice, prolly even thrice, as many.

In the end, the forum is what YOU make of it.

And as for asuka and spy. Yeah, real mature and intelligent there. It takes pure genius to take the time to spam a thread, flame the staff and pretty much say all the users suck ass. And it wasn't even "original" by far, in the three years that I've been here, thats what practically every person has done when they were ready to be banned or came back under a new username.

And yeah, you really don't know spy at all. You're talking to someone who thought he was good friends with him, and you see how that turned out.

But whatever, to each their own!

Too true.
Depending on the times you've had and the experiences you've had, progress can be seen different ways.

Like one of the MUDs I've been on for 4+ years, near its creation. I have different ideas of what it means for it to decline or rise in quality than others who may have been around only for a year. Of course, I'm not saying that their experiences and thoughts are necessarily wrong. Just different.

yeah, Abdur seems to have experience of what he's talking about.
I feel the same about the site in my profile, most people I had fun with have left, kids have come (average of 18 years old), they have fun, they're nice, but I do not fit in. I even quit being a mod -- but that's because of the admin too. The funny thing is I am still as feared, but other than that, their debates are petty, and their humour not mine

Hey hey hey! The FK Congress has been hard at work for awhile now.

I will release our master plan: Hack PSOW and make FKL the only part of the site and if you dont head there you get the FKL torture. Henceforth all mods will be relieved of there jobs and me and Uncle will manage the site and instantly ban all n00bs

It can't fail!

Well, I never really got into the hardcore FLK thing, but I have been here for more than a month, and I do read the posts here, and have been since I joined. What I think is happening is usual:
Change. FKL is changing, and as Emmy put it: "Change is change, Althalus; better or worse are just human definitions."

So, becuase it's changing, people are rebelling, hoping and straining against it. Just like the cel-shaded Zelda; so many people thought it was bad before they even bought it. You know why? The change from realistic to cel. When they actually played it, they loved it. So, sit and wait, because you can't do anything about it, and that's that.

EDIT: Ooops! I was that caught up, I forgot some crazyness! LikeFKLischangingandtheresnothingyoucandoaboutitat allsosleepmybabysleepsoundly!
