View Full Version : Leveling up

I've been playing a Hucaseal, I've gotten her up to Lv115.

I've been King's Raygunning through the forest on ultimate, making a good bit of exp, but I can't help but think that there must be a better way.

I've heard of something called 'recoboxing', does that consist of just killing lots of those drone things?

ugh, we are allowed to post this right?
oh well they can edit it out if they don't like it.

what you do:
Get a kings mechgun
kill all the recons from the box
use the kings mechgun special ability on the box, gaining exp and doing 0 damage to the box

yea..

welKom! by the way

Edit: missed a key point; in Ultimate

Really. The boxes' defense is that high?
I suppose I should take my mag off for that?

Mechguns vrs ult Recobox...
It could help, unless your ata sux (which would be strange for Huceasel), have fun

It works, but MAN is it ever tedious. I almost want to go get an autofire controller...

...but I probably won't.

Theres always the well know method of doing online TTF runs. Its an easy 200K exp per hr which is good enough for anyone.

It's a nice way to gain exp, but just killing enemies has an advantage. This way you have more chance on rare items.
The recoboxing will probably only give exp.

By the way why is the exp so important to you? I can't imagine you didn't clear the game yet.
I'm leveling at the moment, because the vol opt (ver 2) needs 1 hit to kill me. Normally I just equip the richt units to stand a chance against a boss, but that didn't work this time.
What I'm doing at the moment is delsaber hunting on VHard. It's also a nice way to gain exp and make a chance on that stupid left arm.

Ooh and what level are you goaling at?

Offline quest Soul of A blacksmith. I was getting 50k in 10 minutes yesterday. heres what to do...

Your level 115 Ult Forest should be easy. Thats where this will take place. Start the quest and go to Forest 1. Kill as few as enemies in Forest 1 as you can, Forest 2 is where the exp is. When you get to Forest 2 find the rooms with the most enemies, try to avoid ones with Mothvists/Verts in these take time. Make your way to the dragon, when you've killed it, quit and repeat, it's all about the speed.

Good thing is that if your Purplenum, this way you have a decent shot at a Lavis Cannon, lots of Tollaws in a short space of time in this quest.

Fastest way for a Andriod hunter to level offline is to go to Soab with an Srank partisan/sword with kings and just slash away.

1 in 28,800, but yea...

I agree, though, that SoaB is the best option. Not particularly for the enemies, but because it take's hardly any time to get to the dragon, and can be repeated umpteen times.

My personal preference, however, is Caves. Not sure about how much experience is given from a normal Caves run, but I just enjoy it. It's a challenge, rather than just flying through forest losing downwards of 20HP per hit...http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Mines here. It gives a great ratio of time to experience, and has a pretty good spread of rares for any Section ID pretty much. Doesn't have the advantage of a Rare Monster dropping an Uber Rare, but it's pretty good for quick experience gains, and isn't quite as boring as the Caves in overall look and feel. Of course, this is my own opinion, your mileage may vary.

You people and your high levels. Only thing I do to level up is repeatedly killing the Sil Dragon, he gives about 14,500 EXP right? I do that every morning before I go to school. Well anywho, I think an easier way to get some exp is play Multiplayer by yourself offline, leave the other player idle, and you can rnak up all the EXP for yourself, since more monsters come up though. And their defense and other stats go up. But ah... Nevermind don't do that.

i have tried your idea, but there are too many doors that require two people or more to open. Caves, Mines, and Ruins. i guess if your in the Forest it will help.

TTF runs online do work... but I found that quest to be super boring after doing it a few dozen times...

SoaB is a good quest, because yes quick access to the dragon.

Personally, I do mines runs. They are nice and fun (except for Vol Opt) and the enemies drop good experience, plus the fact that most IDs get a good drop chart for the mines (Except for my FOmarl... stupid Yellowboze)

It's really what you have the patience for, and what it is exactly you want to gain while leveling. I've found that Recoboxing is fast, but boring. TTF is a little more interesting because now you get a faster chance at finding boss drops (but if your like me you find it boring), but if your offline, stick to the SoaB runs. They are fast... and you can maybe get that nice tallow drop... but don't hold your breath...

With the whole recoboxing thing; could you just have 4 people with king's mechs go in a game and all sit there and gain exp off it? At least that way you'd have company.

I also agree that it's better to just do runs, for the chance of getting rares, but if you think about it the higher the level you are the quicker you should be able to go through levels (in theory)...so it could be relative. Then there's the fact that it's just more fun to do runs.

I personally favor Addicting Food runs, normally I can get about 200,000 in an hour. I know that Soul of a blacksmith is great too, but I really like Addicting Food and I'd have to complete it to unlock SoaB. *Contemplates decision*.

What is TTF?

I'm looking to get lv140ish... I had a 136 char that was deleted by some idiot (my gamecube lives in the back area of a comic store).

I've not cleared Ultimate yet, last time I fought Dark Falz I was lv111 and he destroyed me.

I've gotten a Kasami off the canabines, i don't really see why you consider it a bad drop. Considering the number of them it's not a hard drop or anything. I wasn't even trying, i was going for the Ruby Bullet which took some runs, and found this on the way.

ugh, can I ask you why your gamecube is in the back area of a comic store??

Also, several people have bought auto-fires just to do the reco-box, my friend does the same kinda thing in morrowind (st00pid cheat ><) he jumps in a lake and ties rubber bands around the left thumb stick then goes and watches tv... that defeats the purpose of the game really....

Get one of them little birdy things that go up and down with the water in and est it up so that it keeps hitting the button. LOL would that even work?

Hmm, probably I'm crazy, but I usually do the quest 'Addicting Food'... I dunno how much experience that gives you in one run... there's close to 100 enemies in the first Caves area. O_o

It gives about 95452 experience. (Offline Quest EXP Guide (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=855)) Good quest if you want to pipe for Mil Lilys as well (There are 9 Obs in one room!)

My personal way of gaining quick experience is SoaB forest runs as someone already mentioned. I used to complete the whole forest, but I will try their method of speeding through it to the dragon...I can probably do 4 in an hour!

My way of leveling up is going to Ultimate or VeryHard forest, finding a monest and you kill all the mothmants. When it's out, you telepipe back to Pioneer2 and then telepipe back. If you didn't kill the monest, it should come back with another full load of mothmants. You can do this as many times as you want.

IMO you should do runs of quests or just the areas, because it's more rewarding in prizes (meseta, itemas) and you might find a rare(enemy/item)...

Well, I don't understand how you people get all of this experene in these small amounts of time. On my Lv. 40 file (which I deleted) I spent about 40 hours playing! Of course, I'm stuck with Ver.1.....

So now, I'm at LVL.10 with my Hunewearl Alexx and fight the dragon OVER and OVER to get a measly 350 exp...

Eh? are you on crack? yellowboze has better mines drops than any other section ID there is. all the enemies are rediculously assanine, but the potential drops are amazing.
