I hate these types of posts but I am really
wondering what other people listen to to get into the mood to play PSO.
Yeah the soundtrack is swell and all that but after hearing it so many times I just turn the BGM off and keep the ambience on.

Right now my heavy PSO rotation is:
<ul>
Fun9 (pronounced "funk")-Takako Minekawa
Discovery-Daft Punk
K & D Sessions -Kruder & Dorfmeister
"DJ Kicks"- Thievery Corporation
Renaissance Ibiza- Deep Dish
[/list]
to me it holds the techno-wilderness
theme together.

I feel the same way about PSO's music. It's good, but after 50+ hours of PSO's music, it gets old.

I've been listening to Xenogears and Suikoden music lately when I play. The Mechwarrior 2: Mercanaries music fits surprisingly well too.

Well, when I have the chance to crank up my stereo, I usually put on the Metallica S&M concert DVD. My computer is in my living room(and my DC is hooked up to my computer). Other than that I may have my TV on Much Music. Thats about it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

bah simpleminded american fools!! haha jk but yeah i hate playing an rpg to something like that, i dont play my rpgs to the hip hop i love and respect but i do play it to things i respect but still give me a mood that fits. the composers i gotta give props to are koichi sugiyama, nobuo uematsu, yasunori mitsuda, and well any others i mention, i listen to dragon quest symphonic arrangements, final fantasy piano arrangements, malice mizer (j-rock band, very good more talented than any of this american crap), and dance dance revolution megamixes (but not often). i know i may sound like a jerk calling american popular music "crap" but its jus my opinion that japanese have way the hell more talent musically than we do. i admit im not able to compose the way they do. anyways please dont flame me these are jus my opinions andyou would only appear a fool for flaming, in any circumstance, andyou would appear smart to other fools.

Hey Aberu,
I'm going to flame you anyway.
First of all:
All of the artists I listed are from
Europe or Asia and AREN'T considered
"Pop music" by anyone's standards.
Second of all:
nobody will take your opinion seriously if you don't make any sense.
Broad generalizations, complete lack of any musical knowledge (would you like to email me a treatise on Eastern music theory? didn't think so), and poor grammar and grammar do not constitute an opinion. it makes you come off as an uneducated moron.
"The hip-hop you love?"
Guess what, hip-hop started in Brooklyn, not Japan. so by using your logic, the hip-hop you love sucks.
Put a little thought into your posts before you spout off again, kid.

merei thank you for reply in a semi-nice manner. first of all my bad grammar is cuz im not really that smart i admit it, and i jus want to get my point through, analyzing my grammar and attacking it only makes you look foolish and makes me think you didnt have enough reasons to not like my reply to this message. furthermore, real hip hop is not popular at all, i hate gangsta rap, and stupid negative music like that along with other popular music that is of today. i dont dislike american music and i do know a lot about hip hop you can ask me a lot about the culture, i break, i tag, and i freestyle, so dont think i dont know. i know and i like european music a lot too jus not as much i listen to some european REAL hip hop artists not this stupid rapper craze. just dont attack a person involved in hip hop about them not knowing a thing about hip hop or music involved in hip hop. common belief is hip hop is jus rap music, hip hop is a culture made up of mcing, breaking, tagging, djing, and capoirea (dont remember how to spell, sue me). jus next time dont attack my grammar or spelling i speak and type and write in slang, its a habit, and i dont believe it makes me look stupid, it only makes me look stupid to people who cant think of any other reason to judge me but my grammar. this is in no means a flame it is retaliation to false accusations of my character and my beliefs. i jus dont like american music, and your gonna flame me for it, that is sad, freedom of speech, on this web forum, and i shouldnt have to put up with people like you. sorry for coming off angry, im having a bad day.

This is the last thing I'm going to say
because I'm just sick of this.

Harping on grammar?
I spent one sentence on that.
Command of syntax and language is an excellent gauge of one's intelligence, as it is the means by which we communicate our thoughts and feelings as well as make them concrete. So if a person's posts are incomprehensible, filled with catch phrases, slogans, profanity, and backward-ass logic with the sole purpose of merely tooting your own horn, what does that say about the writer?
As for the "Hip-hop as pop music"
issue, I'm not even going to get started on that.
Let's just say I don't care about how much you claim to be a hip-hop head. I run my own record shop that specializes in underground hip-hop and have to put up with idiots "repazentin'" every day.

Don't lose sleep over this post.
Like you, I was just voicing my own opinion.
Just like everybody has the right to their own opinion, everybody has the right to call someone out when their thoughts just don't make any sense. All I'm asking for is clarification of your initial post. it seemed to me you were just ego-trippingg.

Have respect for other people's posts and we won't rip into you. If you feel stupid it's not my fault, you brought this onto yourself.

See you on Pioneer.

Heh, about the only things I listen to are my video game soundtracks. I have approx. $700 in Squaresoft soundtracks http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif. I'm a regular at www.gamemusic.com.

The only other regular artist I listen to is a guy named David Arkenstone. I have yet to meet anyone who's heard of him. (If you have, tell me what you think of himhttp://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif)

Hello! Am I the only one that cranks up Britney Spears while playing PSO? Opps I did it again, I made you believe that I really listen to that, lmao! Nah, I don't crank up Britney while playing PSO, I actually don't like to listen to music period. I guess that crudy PSO music will have to do, but I'm not complaining. Although I would love to get that one song of Daft Punks burned, it sounds pretty groovy, considering there are no "real" lyryics. Oh, and please don't attack my grammar on here, lmao, j/k!

I love playing the Homeworld game soundtrack while playing PSO, but I have to skip the first track (Adagio for Strings) because it puts me to sleep faster than a warm milk injection while drinking a bottle of Nyquil laced with Valium pills. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

I listen to all kinds of music while playing PSO. Mostly Rock and Alternative. I also listen to soundtracks like Spawn, Matrix, and the Mortal Kombat movies.

when playing PSO I feel that classical is more fitting. Lately the crouching tiger hidden dragon soundtrack has been perfect for it. although Ive been known to crank a little john williams, and occasionally radioheads new (read unlreleased) album amnesiac.

In all honesty, I'm rather fond of the PSO music, or rather, the lyrical intro and ending music, anyway (I wish I could still sing!). Other than that, I listen to just about everything excluding rap/hip/R&B sorta stuff and country/western stuff. Fave bands : early Metallica, Megadeth, Jackyl, Gone Jackals, Pantera, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains. I also enjoy classical/opera, techno/rave, 80's, and anything from Weird Al Yankovic. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

I want to buy the official sound track to PSO, but I can already just listen to them with BG test =). Does anyone know where you can find all the special tracks like the Easter music, or the songs played in some of the quests? I really like some of them. There are some nice orchestrated tracks in there
(I wonder if I can cram the word "some" in there a few more times http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_biggrin.gif)
