I'm currently in the process of dying my hair black.

Well, this hairdye has a different affect then the rest of the dyes I've ever tried in my life... it likes to leave a nice black pigment on my flesh. And soap and hot water isn't exactly removing it either.

Well, the dye is in my hair and currently staining my flesh as we speak.

Nine minutes until I can rise the crap off, look at my hair. Only to realize that I missed a chunk and stained my flesh... MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

I'm gonna look like a FREAK tomorrow.

I dyed my hair Blue once......good lord that was scary....I had my beard/moustache back then too. Less than a week ago I dyed my hair (with a temp dye) red, and I looked WAY to freaky. Natural colors are your friends.

I had blue highlights twice.

Once when it fade out it was a pretty silver colour. That was good.
The other time it faded out and become green. :/ Needless to say I dyed mine back to black.

I tried to go white once, but i bleached it twice and still couldn't get it there. White is cool if you style it right.

What kind of dye are you using? I used to have blue hair, for nearly a year, so every time I redyed my hands, ears, face, neck, etc. would end up rather blue as well.

I used a vegetable-based semi-permanent dye, and rubbing alcohol usually worked fairly well for getting it off my skin. That may work for other kinds of dye, too, but I have little experience with anything else. (I dyed my hair brown a couple of times to get it close to my natural color, and anything I got on my skin seemed to wash off pretty easily.)

I've had purple highlites twice and both times its faced out to white/light blone. Since my hair is dark brown, my mom says it makes me look like a witch. I think it looks cool though.
