Yeah, definately sucks to be us. First we take ages to get games released, there normally sub par and now there missing the most important feature. The selling point of Resi Evil Outbreak was the fact that it was online, so removing that is just fucking stupid.

Ergh, flat parties make me type wierd and hurt my head.

And you only feel sorry for us now?????

To stay topical, PSO has always been released late here. Almost a year later that the Japanese version every time. It gives us a huge disadvantage when trying to play with other people.

I've got used to it but I still get angry.
FFX-2. Been out in Japan ages.

The only thing we get early is James Bond and Harry Potter. Huray for England -.-; (I know I said ENgland and not Europe).

I think England should be considered a seperate country to Europe when releasing video games. All you need to do is change the code that deals with hardware (NTSC->PAL) and that's it. Set up an English server and away you go. Leave the rest of Europe for their languages. I think that's what annoys us English people the most. The fact it's been translated for us (US version) and could be released in a fairly short time.

Damn, that sucks...

If I lived in Europe--I'd seriously import EVERYTHING. Screw the game companys trying to screw the customers...its bull ****.

Hey, the Us has gotten some pretty lame stuff too. Take Biohazard Gun Survivor. Columbine happens, and Capcom gets scared, taking out gun support, so it's now just Resident Evil: Survivor. A horrible game, made even worse without at least a token bit of kitsch to make it worth trying.

Arislan. Are you trying to compare the trouble that US has with either the non-existant or little software we (EU) get?

Most of the stuff JP get, does not go to the US. And then even less gets to EU.
The pecking order is always (99.9%)
JP -> US -> EU.

People should be thankful for what they do get compared to us.

Take this current and true example. I bought UT2K4 and can't play it. Some stupid thing. I post on the Atari forums and nothing. People don't try to help. And there are topics like, I get poor fps (frames per second) and my server list isn't in alphabetical order -.-. Why can't you just look at what others get and be thankful you at least get it!

(btw. It's not personally aimed at your Arislan. It's aimed at everyone who isn't EU =/)

I pity some of the Nordic countries who get an even worse deal than us. All games are pretty much tranlsated into French, German etc. The Nordic countries don't really get a look in. They have to use another language (usually English).

Oh no, wasn't even going to start stating that the US gets the short end of the stick on releases. Just take at look at what happened to the PSX MGS release date from original release to the EU release and you'll get a telling sign that the EU region gets the shaft constantly.

Just trying to remind people that every now and then, US releases get nixed or messed with too (I wanted my DC Shenmue 2!)

I have no idea what you're talking about... that game was excellent.

Well, at least it added some good story elements to the franchise.

As a Resident Evil fan, I'm actually angry for you guys. That's the most stupid thing in the world. The game wasn't even supposed to have an offline portion when it was first developed, and now that's all they're selling in Europe? I agree with Linkooseven... you guys should just import everything. I dunno what else to do, really.

The problems of importing and using Freeloader every time is what is stopping us.

No matter where you buy from, you will always get later deliveries and more headaches by importing, rather than buying from a shop or country specific web site (.co.uk etc). They promise you a release dat of xx/yy and it gets delayed due to suppliers and customs and blah blah blah. Yes you can get this with buying in your own country, but it's much easier and less hassle to sort the problem out.

Using Freeloader every time is annoying too. Buying a US console is too much hassle as you have to buy a power converter, make sure your TV can support NTSC and what happens if it goes wrong, or you do in fact want to get EU games. You could have a EU console chipped but that would void the warranty and hurt the resell/exchange value.

Heck, a guy gets used to news like those.

Importing is a pain over here in the UK. Very few shops will stock imported games, and when they do theyve got an extra 50% added onto the price tag (60pounds it cost me for Animal Crossing, which is one of the only import games other then Wind Waker ive actually seen sold in the UK). There is also the small portion of the country who still dont have TV's that support a 60hz mode (luckily for me ive got one) and the new fact that if Nintendo catch any shop selling imported GC games they will stop recieving any stock from Nintendo ever again.

I got US copy of Pso epIII for 24.99 and 5 shipping from the US (?40 new for pal version). So importing is not expensive if you know what your doing.

Is it just me or is that article somewhat confusing?

In the headline title, it says "Capcom confirms that the European version of Resident Evil Outbreak will be released in September without online support."

But then a European spokesman says that verious Japanese engineers are talking with several ISP's and should have the online portion of the game up and running in a few months.

What I get from the article:

It's possible that Capcom will release the game with online play present over in Europe but expect a release delay.

A very slim chance there will be online play, but there's still a chance.

That's a good deal. I doubt I could find that here in the US.

He's referring to that in pounds. The pounds symbol doesn't show on these forums for some reason.

http://www.pathsforall.org.uk/pth/images/pound.gif

So 24.99 and 5 quid delivery comes to 30 pounds, which is 54$ for the whole package.
