Ok, I read the cards that I'm having trouble with, but I'm still having trouble understanding them.

I was thrown into a battle against another Sil'fer this time it wasn't the computer, but rather a very quiet human player (who didn't say anything the entire match, had two of them today, they kinda irk me a bit). During the battle, they used TP defense, which is something I still don't understand why my attacks are so low.

After a short melee, my opponent then equipped Custom Ray V.00 and Custom Barrier V.00 and after that I seriously couldn't do anything. Almost my attacks were blocked or whiffed by it. I fought to the end, the custom barrier having no damage but lost experience due to my attacks, but my opponent won HP wise.

So I'm wondering if anyone knows any tactics on how to beat the Custom combo as well as explaining a bit about TP Defense... thank you.

TP def is a really fun one to play on androids, it gives temp A/TP swap, so whatever attack you're doing (minus modifiers played by action cards) will now go off your TP instead of your AP, it works great on Relmitos too for that matter.

I haven't used the custom set myself but what that sounds like is EXP decoy, instead of loosing HP he was loosing exp, once he was out of exp (fairly sure it won't drop you bellow an already gained bonus, but not sure) then you'll finally start shaving off the HP. My advice would be to use some kind of rampage attack, if you can destroy the custom ray with rampage the barrier should loose the exp decoy effect.

Lots of ways to counter cards like that.

1) Do tons of damage, and kill their EX http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
2) Wok it. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
3) Use an HP Halver. Even if you're enemy has +2 EX bonus, it should drop him to +1, then to 1/2, and at that point you can crack the shield. (theory, i've never done this, but it should work)
4) Snatch attacks.
5) Cards with Major Death http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Or Major Slayer... Megid works nicely ;P

Hope that helps.

Sad to say, that it has lower rank halfguard so anything below three is useless to say. Before I started attacking, he blasted me with Zonde. ;_; Is it 1/2 Hp attack, the one your suggesting? I don't have any megid. I do have snatch, but I'm confused on what it does as well. (another word you can't say in PSOnline)...

I'm also wondering how my EXP went down as well. I used to have a dice bonus and now I didn't. Is there any card that prevents it...

Split Boost is also another card I'm wondering. Sil'fer + elysion (+3, I think) + Split Boost (dice roll came out to be like 4) = 10 right, but it's not... why so?

You can always use an Action Card (I forget it's name -.- It's not rare at all though) that switches HP and AP, and attack with 4pt or higher card http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Snatch = 1/3 of the damage you deal, will steal 1pt EX from them and give it to you, i.e:

You attack for 9 damage, the opponents loses 3 EX, and you gain 3 EX.

HP attack. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Though the custom barrier does sound like a pain in the royal back tho. For things like this, I suppose instant death combo would be useful. Like, freeze + shockblow, or Bind + Bindkill. You don't have to deal any damage, as long as you can freeze it, then you can kill it. And it's easy cards, low cost. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

In this case I would imagine that it would still do damage based on half of the barrier's HP, not how much EX they have. I'd stick with HP attack or Wok. Wok is a natural shield destroyer. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif Also, get some guard demolishers. SHAtk is quite easy to come by.

What does HP attack do anyway/

Switches AP and HP for that attack on the item/enemy that is using it. So a Sealed J, instead of attacking for +4, will attack for +9 instead. After attacking, it switches right back.

Yeah, Heroside with HP attack can rack up quickly on story characters with naturally higher AP. Keep in mind, though, that it uses the current HP of the creature/item, not the maximum HP (unless of course the HP is at max).

And what happens if they TP defense it?
