I've been seeing alot of different nicknames or user names and I just got curious.. How did you come up with your Nickname.. ethier for your Character or your Gamer Tag..
I got mine when I used to work in a tattoo shop (TATU) and the last part was a shortened Version of my last name and my employee number from a telemarketing Group I worked for..
There really not a point to this but to get some good stories on how people come up with their names.. and to maybe have a little bit of fun!

My username was a typo that I didn't catch until a few days later and by then I decided to just leave it. It was supposed to be VIOLENTSKYE (like a Hurricane or something.) Ahem! Cheep originated from Cheap cheep, which was aquired from playing super smash brothers for the N64 and being incredibly cheap as pikachu,mixed with my love of squirrels. I am still,to this day,really really cheap,and I like to cheep.

I was reading a book on the Sundance Ritual of the Lakota (Souix) Indians, and it detailed how they were strung up from their chests by cords of SINUE tied to bone shards which were shoved under the nipples on their chest. That's the first time I saw it spelled like that (usually it's Sinew) and thought it would make a great name for my RAcaseal.

I've grown attached to her, and the name just kinda stuck with me.

Im not really sure how I got the nickname "the pew", Ive just been called that since I was little. It might be because I use to carry around a clown doll named stinky ma-gie. But thats only a guess.

"Oeagrus" is the Roman version of the Greek name "Orpheus". There were a billion "Orpheus's" online when I picked my online name back in 1995, but there was no "Oeagrus" (pronounced Oh-Way'-Grus") to be found anywhere.

Orpheus is the fellow in Greek history whose woman was bitten by an asp and died. Orpheus was so distraught that he took his lyre into hell and played for Hades, who was so moved that he allowed Orpheus to take his woman out of hell with him. It still didn't work out well for him in the end, but if you ever get a chance to see the play "Orpheus and Eurydice" (pronounced Or'-Fee-Us and Yur-Id'-Itch-Ee) go see it! It's a excellent, albeit ancient, play.

For characters, "Me" came because he was my first char, a Humar on my friend's card, then on mine, made Me the Hucast. My force was originally ZAP, all caps, yes, and although he was corrupted, and his name changed to Pyrofreak, we still all call him Zap. My Ramarl, Joe, was just something that I found hysterical at first. A girl named Joe? Then I remembered Josephine, and it wasn't so funny. Then Beeez, ahh, beeez, must have come from hitting my head to many times when I couldn't find Mils. Now he's prancing around with his shiny new Demolition Comet.

Eihwaz is a rune. It exists in several forms, I believe. One is more or less just a normal letter. The other form is a complex, knot-like design etched on the blade of the sword of a sea god. I found mention of it in Harry Potter Part 5 (very minor part, albeit), and also in a catalogue. It sounded cool, and wasn't video-game based.

Matt is my real name. I was just playing PSO with a friend, I didn't think I'd buy the game and stuff. Redria is good, though.

Shade came from several parts. First off, I wanted something like "Shadow" but not so obvious and n00bish. I had read a novel called "Shade's Children", and really enjoyed it. So, I went with Shade. It's a great name, but Pinkal SUCKS. ;_;

Arc, I dunno. I was just running random names through the ID calculator, aiming for Yellowboze.

Lorena, I think came from a random name generator, but I changed it a bit. Whitill is pretty good. Felt kinda...mysterious, I guess.

Illumina got Oran, and is the name of the ultimate sword in FF3. Sounds pretty nifty, I think. More of a girl's name, don't you think?

My username on this forum comes from my first ep1&2 character, my FOmar Sammael. At the beginning of playing, I sometimes referred to him as Sammael the Dark... which was a bad pun when you include his class: Sammael the Dark Force.

The more common username I use in most forums these days is Schlagwerk. Schlagwerk is the name of a song by TaQ from Konami's Beatmania IIDX game. I got into Beatmania this past fall and the song just stuck with me. That and Schlagwerk is fun to say. It flows off the tongue. ;P

Sammael got his name from one of the Foresaken from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I don't even remember who Sammael was, but I just liked his name. People often think I misspelled Samuel.

Nyare is a bit harder to explain. In anime an manga, cat-like characters sometimes end all their setences with "~nya". Then I slapped a random -re after it and got Nyare.

Kail, my newest permanate character was just a blatent attempt to get a Pinkal. I went through 5 different spellings to get that section ID. But for about 6 levels, I had a different Viridia FOnewm named Valgernon before I decided I wanted a Pinkal.
Valgernon came from an anime called Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. In one of the character's rooms, there was a poster obviously parodying Sega's Virtual On game (a favorite game of mine.. I guess it's a classic now). The text under the very Temjin-esque robot said Cyber Legion Valgern-On.

Durakken came from a recreation of a chat RPG char that i needed a new account for for unsaid reasons... originally the name was DragonSabre and when that was gone i came up with Durakken Seabure, Durakken is Drakken with a slightly dif pronunciation which is the original word for Dragon...and Dragon comes from i've always been called Dragon since little...

Sylphie Gen came from Selphie and Sylph combine name and i liked the name of a commic called Gen 13...

Outrider - Hey everybody, remember that awesome game/book/comic/huge EU project called Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire? No? Dang. Well, for some reason I think Dash Rendar rocks, and his ship is the Outrider. Since then though, I've come to enjoy the meaning of the word. (One who goes beyond others and that kinda stuff.) But yes, it was originally a ship from Star Wars.

Um... those are the only characters I've actually made on my PSO game. I've made up a bunch of fic characters, but probably only one or two of them will be made, and only once I get Ep III. Besides, most of them are just random combinations of syllables until I can find a cool sounding name. Well, except for Walkerton, which is a reference to It's Walky.

Oh, right... and Buster came about because Dylan mentioned the name and I thought it would be an awesome name for a FOnewm. Heh.

Tell - I was learning about William Tell at the time in school, and I thought it would make a good name for a HUmar. It was Greenill however, so I added a space at the end to get Bluefull. Also the main character in my writing.

SquirrlGirl!- My sister's FOmarl. She likes squirrels.

C-0554CK, C-0M3T, and C-RU5H3R- I wanted names like model numbers that spelled stuff in l33tspeak. Viridia, Skyly, and Oran, respectively.

SixteenTen- Just a random name I thought up for a RAcaseal.

Ailita- I was watching too much Code: Lyoko at the time. I wanted a Redria FOmarl for a Sato anyway.

Pegsie- A character based on one of my sister's pegasus-loving friends.

JewelEyes- A character based on my girlfriend.

Ashton Mea- Another character in my stories.

Seirah- Another character in my stories.

Jeremy - My name with three spaces on the end, to make him Redria.

Seilphe- My sister's RAcaseal. She wanted a Purplenum name.

Chuan- My friend's FOmar, he plays as him when he comes over.

Nikki- My sister's HUnewearl. Yet another character in my stories.
