Amazing, the things you discover on accident.

*envy*

Mine is still over 100 views away from evilness. ;_;

Clearly, I must somehow get it to 1337 -replies- and outdo you. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I dunno but I expect The Recollection of Randon to end up with at least 2674 replies. That's 1337 x2. Oh yeah.

The only way I can get 1337 views is if I read over my own fic 100+ times. I sort of have to sometimes to remember where I need to pick up on...

What makes this fairly important to myself, personally, is that no other Recollection Saga thread has ever had as many views or replies. The Recollection of Meira only had 25 replies and to date, only 342 views (about 310 before it dropped off the first page), while Crankshaft had only 57 replies and 1149 views-- and Crankshaft had 4 chapters more than VanGarrett.

So I'm just, "Yay! I'm getting popular!" over here.

Oh, I was just shy of a month from my last update to the one I made this morning. :3

What makes it worse is that I wrote most of the chapter over the last three days. :3

Quick, someone go refresh my fic until it hits 666 views. :3 I'm too lazy. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif And go read and reply to it until it hits 1337 replies. I'll give you a slightly used ham sandwich!

I wouldn't want to get your thread locked. That's my excuse http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

From chapter 31 it took me over three months to write chapter 32 and post it. Blargh.

But yeah... most of my views actually ARE from myself reading it over and over... heh...heh...

I try to avoid opening my own threads, myself... Normally, I'll only open my own fanfic thread when I get a new reply, or when I post a new chapter.

I'm with Meira. Unless someone has replied, or unless I'm updating it, I just let the thread fall to page 12 or wherever it goes between updates and get back to it when I've got another chapter.

Yeah, I see what you mean, but normally I scan over a chapter after I posted to make sure that I don't have any real glaring errors or formatting issues.

Over that three months time my fic fell to who knows what page, but I usually do some reading up on what parts of the story I should cover more or give more or less detail in for the future. I also don't want conflicting statements, or something where I describe something like hair color one way and then something completely different the next time. I guess that sort of happens when I take a few days to a few weeks break between each of the chapters I post. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I usually like to look over my previous stuff to figure out where I was, too; though I tend to find it more convenient to just look it over in the original RTF file in Wordpad.

Yeah, I think it's just because I have an easier time reading on here with the settings I have than on wordpad. I seem to catch more things in my writing this way. Maybe it's because after writing it all in wordpad I can get a different angle on how it looks when it's on a forum page. Sometimes I catch consistency errors in wordpad and sometimes in the forum. But, whenever I read through it adds about 4-5 views just because of the number of pages, and it's been around since the beginning of August, so that may account for why it's like that.

Seriously... Is there anyone who actually loads Word when they want to seriously write something? I can't honestly comprehend anyone who is serious about writing loading such an absurdly large program for the purpose of getting some serious writing done. For spellchecking, I can see it... But otherwise... That's just... Urg...

I just use notepad.
Forum doesn't like a lot of Word's non-alphanumeric characters anyways.

Now, see, I like to use an RTF format. That way, I can still use Word for spellchecking and grammar, so I can polish it off before posting.

RTF is nice because it retains formatting (I like to write in Times New Roman at size 10 font), while at the same time, it's not an absurdly large .doc file, and it is furthermore, universal.
