View Full Version : Dice Handicapping for high-lvs?

I have been fighting alongside a few higher lvl then me friends for a couple tourneys + free battles.

But the catch is that we always lose.

Now, at lvl 10 I'm no slacker, and my partners have been from around lv 15 thu like 27 at the highest. But when we fought it'd be vs people like lvl. 5+10, 11+14, 3+8, stuff like that because its just open tourney and you don't control it. However we'd both roll consistently junk, and not be able to bring out anything better then stupid claws and mechguns, which are no good for your partner who has a hand full of 4 spot items and 2+ spot defs--when the def roll is consistent under 3. (No this is not decks of Xtreme monsters/weps like gee gue+Ill gill you need MEGA rolls for...just moderate stuff)

But this has been so consistent that one friend thinks it's a hidden rule of ST.
**Are they handicapping the dice for the more experienced players to give the low lvls 'a chance'?
Is this why you hear about the so called 'really good' usa low lvls beating the higher jps? because if its dice handicapping JUST based on rank or lvl....it seems like bs to me.

ANYone can lose on bad dice, but its supposed to be random. To me, 10 fights in a row of loss to bad dice isnt. Its just signifigantly lower than the rolls of the lower lvl opposing team. If we are vs coms, this doesn't happen.

Are they doing this to discourage low+high lv teams?
To discourage 'picking on' people?
To force everyone to keep to themselves...Re: all this JPs are bullying the USA fiasco?

I guess..."Are we just totally permenently unlucky or is something else going on?"

No, there is no handicapping of any sort. Just really bad luck.

Yep, bad luck.

A partner and I (41/19) faced two people around the 9-12 range or something, and we had perfect rolls.

the bad luck really happen a little too bizzare thou...

what are the chances of you and your partner both throw 1 on def dice for 5 of ur turns?

but then again... once me and someone fought some high lv JP team, and they keep getting 6 and 5, while we got 3 and 2...

My recommendation is that you do what I did with the card packs for the dice rolls: keep track of absolutely every CLv and dice roll involved for a significant amount of time, then analyze the results. When it's hard to find out what it seems to be, find out what it really is.

yes. in 1 vs 1, im sure of it, 100%. in teams, 2v2, i feel there are other factors. im looking into it

I really doubt there is a handicap, that would be dumb.
I think it IS just luck....all chance.

Stick me in the luck category. I've seen nothing at all shwoing that there is a handicap. My luck runs inversely proportional to how close I am to finals dice-wise, but I've never had an instance in any match where either me or my opponent had a clear advantage in rolls other than a round or two.

I get 1's, 2's, and 3's more often that 4's, 5's, and 6's. Go me.

Anyway, I'm going to try something stupid, I'm going to see what is my percentage for each dice roll I get. Man, I hate my luck sometimes, and it's rare I play Ep3.

hmm, along those lines, maybe its certain characters, such as silfer getting high rolls more frequently, while glustar doesnt. one being a starter character, while the other isnt,

Couldn't the problem be that whoever sets up the options and such puts the maximum roll to a low number? just a thought...

that has no affect in turneys,

and i my self am conviced of fixed dice, because i do not know what level this dude was but i got 1-1 4! count them now....4!!!!!! times in a row lie 5 weeks ago, i was so enraged and about to go on a killing spree after that happnen, u can guess i lost the match. when match started i got no higher then 4 for 5 turns so i was only able to equip a wep and not doing anything or just 1 attack, doing meek damage, then when i had one wep in my hand that cost 3 i rolled 1-1.... moved he rolled a 4-3 killed my wep, next turn....1-1.... he said ......becuase he knew...then he rolled a 2-1....and i said ok maybe i have a chance? guess again, rolled that 1-1 again!!!!!! he said *wow dude* i said *........* he roled a 4-2 took like 12 hp when he was done, i had like 3 hp left, when it was my turn guess what...........1-1..... out of pure rage i just DCed....if u knew how that felt you would understand why....after calming down i checed to see if a black cat was in my room or if i had broke mirror, SOMETHING must have happend for it to be that dam bad, i quit pso for 2 days after that bs, so yes i do think the dice are fixed....no way in hell i roll a 1-1....4 times ina row.........thats.......just not........right...

I think its just luck. If there was that dice handicap why it would happen only in counted times and not in all games?

Like was stated before, record every dice roll by all players, and if you can, their CLvl. Compare the numbers, and you'll have an answer.
