I resently read a stratagy on PSOW that told me how to get an S ranking in every battle for better card. but alas, I've done this several times and have yet to come across any rare cards in doing this.
Well at this point im wondering if taking the time to get an s-rank every battle is worth it because I've seen no different results from an S to a C.
heh thanks for your time!

The rank you get in battle doesn't effect the types of cards you'll receive. Those are, more or less, quasi-randomly calculated based on which booster pack you choose in combination with your CLv. What getting higher ranks in battle does is it gives you more cards from the booster pack you choose. Generally you get 5 for an E/D/D+, 6 for a C/C+, 7 for a B/B+, 8 for an A/A+, and 9 for an S. Those may not be perfectly accurate as results tend to vary slightly. Also, I think the cards you receive in team play are based on the higher rank between the two players. Finally, you'll always earn 2 cards for losing.

Blue packs have a higher chance of creature cards
Red packs have a higher chance of item cards
Green packs have a higher chance of action cards
And Black is equal chance for all

Wouldn't black be assist?

By default, yes, black would give more assist. It's just that the percentage chance of assist isn't bumped up in black. But since none of the others are ether, that overall makes assist more common.

Actually, I have found getting over a C+ nets me more R cards than usual. I would get a C and get nothing over an N, but then i would get a B and get only 1-2 N's and the reast R4 and higher..

I have even gotten some of my best cards by LOSING.
It's kinda random. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif But as Vulpes says, if you get more cards per win, chances are there is a higher chance of a good card show up. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Did you really need to make a 2 month bump for your response?
Also, you are incorrect, as the rate of finding a rare will always be the same, regardless of rank.
