I just got done play some PSO and low and behold I see a game called 1308 Mag. I say to myself hmmm, lemme see what this is about. As soon as I get in the game someone asks me if I've ever seen a 1000+ mag and I was like wtf! Kid opens a window and I see a mag with the stats of 313/313/313/313, I was like whoa and it was a Diwari. Does the hacking ever stop? I know that it won't be it's to the point were I'm going to be stopping my HL for the third time for good I think.

i don't think it will ever stop.. those hackers will stop at nothing... they plagued version 2 on the DC and they seem to be making a habit of it now... though there's no FSOD'ers (at least i don't think so)
i can't see what they really want... they might just want to ruin other people's fun, or they may just want to be good samartians and help people by giving them high level mags...
well, i think it's up to ST to do something about it.. and they seem to be doing something about it in PSOBB with the inclusion of Game masters/Mods, shmae they never included them until now

I think BB will be worse because it's all computer coded and all PC games get hacked to shit that are online, just look at Diablo from what I hear.

well, that too depends on how well ST is prepared to look after PSOBB... they'll have a lto of angry players on their hands otherwise.
though the worst thing about hackers is the FSOD thing... i hated that so much >_<
being NOL'd too, i don't know who'd be sad enough to just sit there at a computer and ruin other people's fun for no reason... they sure know how to get their kicks >_>

theyre just taking an end, and making the means to that end much easier to get to. its very logical when you think about it from an impersonal way.
then again, the end is kinda pointless in the forst place, as is with all games

I mean I can understand why someone would hack or dupe, but I just don't see why you would want to make an already easy game, easier. In my opinion PSO has one of if not the worst online community when it comes to online games. That was the one thing i could appreciate when I used to play DC back in the day, it was the JP ships were so much more fun to play with because I never ran into JP on the same level as US players that used hacks.

I think that PSO has the potential to have one of the best online communites of any online game out there-- the only problem are the people that you mentioned, the people who hack the game and ruin it for others.
Now of course, a hacked mag isn't nearly as bad as NOL was on DC-- but if you ask me, the online community stems from the players themselves.
Quite truthfully, most of the old hackers are long gone. They have left a lasting impression on PSO, but it doesn't mean all is lost.
I would say to keep your hunter's license-- I myself have been corrupted 3 times, each at level 130+, and I know how easy it seems to be to just give up.
But if you truly want to see PSO as having one of the best online communites out there, then you need to decide to try and make it that way. Your own actions may do much more than you think, if they are a positive and you have a good backing behind you.
Ok, so maybe that sounds like some silly prep talk stuff, but it is true. We are the people who make up the community of PSO online- so why don't we make it better?

True...Very true... I myself try to do that whenever I get on and see something I know can't possibly happen without cheats or items gotten via cheating (i.e. level 29 character wielding a Dark Flow, a RAmar with a Spread Needle dealing 800 damage, etc...). Of course, most people are not easily persuaded from giving up their power... Who can blame them? They are, after all, human, just like all of us... And humans, no matter how seemingly peaceful or perfect the system may be, will always have a desire to destroy it, to try to replace it with what they believe will be better.
But still, I encourage everyone to at least try to dissuade such players from their actions... Or even, if you have items to spare, trade them for their hacked items and destroy them via closing an empty game.
Another method still is to challenge them to the Battle Arena, the stakes being the items. I doubt many people would agree, but it's worth trying...
It's always worth trying...

It is lame I know... I mean I have seen a 150+ character using a 1000+ mag (looking like the first MAG stage for a hunter)... I mean with his hacked J-sword and being 150+ you don't need a 1000+ mag. Why would you want to pay per month for a game in which takes no skill and does nothing for you (no need to look for rares, no need to lvl up (you are powerful enough or for some hacked lvl 200).... o well I have yet to see a xtremely lame player that would have:
level: 200 (hacked of coarse)
Class: HUmar/HUcast
Weapon: J-Sword
Armor Aura Field (or whatever the best armor in the game is)
Units:
anything to boost what he doesn't have at max already
1000+ MAG
if someone has seen someone like the guy above then... wow someone needs a life.

thats unbeliveably narrow minded and arrogant. maybe you need a life because you are seemingly getting wound up by prople like him.
besides maybe he has maxed another character or is bored with the game? maybe he has different values and enjoys games differenlty to you...and said player isnt harming you judging by your comments so i fail to see what youre calling him lame for

Because he is playing a game (and paid money for) which he has made it so there is no purpose for himself playing...
1: he can't be killed (unless a Ob lily or one of the Mercarol family hits him)
2: he will kill most creatures so fast they will not even be able to even swing at him
3: He doesn't need to search for items and can't (thanks to the mag)
4: last he put no effort into doing it...
I mean if we was to do this then quit the game... but to continue play a game you have made boring for yourself is lame. And if you continue to play a boring game you yourself has made boring is a waste of time and means you need a life if you spend hours doing it.
No not directly is he harming me but the reason I call him lame is because he is harming himself by wasting his own time.

Do you honestly fail to see why he called someone like that lame? Wow. Personally I would have called him much worse.

If you can't see how that person can still have fun you totally miss the point of playing online...stop playing this game...you're not worthy.

I agree, but not the the extreme that you do. I find it funny that so many "legits" here say that "cheaters can't have fun" as if their (the leigts) definition of fun is factual and absolute. The last time I checked, fun was relative, just like legitimacy.

Well, to those of you who despise the cheaters, All I wonder is why? Hell how many games are out there now? Hm... A couple hundred thousand or so, each people have hacked for the sole purpose of making the game a wee bit more interesting. Hell think of it this way... Would you rather try and get the Parasitic Flow the hard way? Without having a chance to get it? Want to use up a few months trying to get to level 200 but people later assume you've cheated anyway? What's the point? The people who decide to use cheats, they consider that better for them, don't be hating on them because they're able to do things you're not able to do. Like my characters for instance. They're all level 200, I used codes. I have alot of rares from a PSO save. Some that are Online Only. And since I cna't play online, that makes me happy. Since now I have several hundred rares now. Makes the game for fun in my eyes. But Hacked Mags do stop your Rare Findings. I know form experience. I have several hacked 1304 Mags. A Chao, Davils Tail, Devils and Angels wing and so forth.

No it has been proven that hacked mags DON't stop rare drop at all of even lower it. They NEVER appear in PSO+ if you use a hacked mag.

A lot of ppl hack now....so it will probably get a little worse in the future {maybe}.
If hacking is a problem ignore it. Just play the way you would play if they were a legit player. That's the way I would play. But sadly I'm not online yet. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Well, I don't think the hacking will stop, but to stop playing PSO because some morons are using those messed up MAGs. That's pretty much as pathetic as using those MAGs to begin with.
The ueber MAGs actualy make me laugh. Especialy that time when one of the users got battered to death by only 3 Bartles because he kept typing he was invincible, instead of defending himself. And then he got pissed at me for calling him an idiot.... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

you 2 have missed the point of my post entirely. and i understand your viewpoint and i dont fail to see why you called him lame but its still wrong IMO.
again maybe he has no other games? maybe he has nothing else to do? and maybe when he uses cheats it relieves the boredom.
do you understand the point im trying to make?
