Why is it that so many games always have "PRESS START" on the title screen When you can also press the A button or X button to start the game as well?

Because people need an "ANY" key. Simple as that. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

You try writing Everything on one button!
Now you understand how the X-Box controller became so big!

Yeah, tutorial of the game. To open boxes, Hold down the black button while pressing the Left trigger. This will bring the box opening menu up, now to open square boxes press quater circle down to right, A,B, white button and then release the Left trigger.http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Because it's a standard.
Like hell am I going to sit around remembering which button starts which game. Some games only start when you PRESS START, others use other buttons in addition to START. Regardless, as long as you know pressing START will start the majority of the games, then that's all you really need to know.

This block is a saved game, are you sure you want to save? (yes, considering that's why i clicked on that box, and i'm just phyced right now and want to save every five minutes)

Are you sure? (Yes damnit!!!)

Are you sure that you want to return to the main screen?

You have selected "Yes, you mother%@&!@$#!"

Are not sure?

You have selected "Yes, now die!"

Are you sure that you want to return to the save menu?

Does anyone know WHY, for example, in old NES games you HAD to press Start to select, and HAD to press select to change choices, on the menus. is this down to some kinda of programming constraint on old consoles?
