Last nite, after defeating Dalk Falz in an open game. A person whom I played with said there were some presents in the pricipals office. Curious, I took a look. Hey look a lavis cannon, P-arms and a couple of other things.
"Woohoo," I exclaimed grabbing the P-arms,"I gonna give these to a friend! Woohoo!"
Happily exiting i thought,"yay! Magenta can finaly have those Pan arms she always wanted"
I awoke in the morning and thought,"what the hell was I thinking!" Maybe playing till 2:30 am affected my judgement but whatever the reason I started up my system and dumped the offending item.
Now, i'm not a militant dup hater but I made a decision a while ago not too trade nor accept duped items. For that reason I am very ashamed of myself and more so for even considering giving them to Magenta.
Magenta, to you, I am especially sorry......
That nite I played with Onyx (whom happened to be Loki's GF, She was playing and Loki was watching) I would like to apologize to both of them. To Onyx, for making such a crappy first impression by taking the Pan arms and to Loki for having to witness this shameful act.

Hey dude - no-one died...
We all have a dislike of dupes and cheats but I wouldn't take it so badly. So you messed up once. I can't imagine anyone is qualified to cast the first stone.

Amen to that. As a general rule, I'd have to say ...
"Honor, thy name is Aviendha"
(feel free to substitute Pirotess/SaitoH/LD50/etc etc etc as needed)

Sait I'll tell you the same thing now as I did at Smart Ass. It's hard to turn down the cool stuff. I used a more than likely duped Lavis for days before my nagging inner voice got the better of me. I have done the same thing.
Good for you SaitoH! I think all of us who have palyed pso have had this happen to them. And somethimes it can be a hard decison.
Don't beat your self up.
What matters is that you did what was right in the end.
Rember its just a game and those items are really just a bunch of interpreated 1's and 0's.

thanks saitoh.. and tis a good thing you did also..
cant say whether or not i was in a similar position.. but last night i was offered an akiko's frying pan..
but it was no ordinary akiko's pan..
it was one grinded to +99.
I was very tempted, and the guy i played with who offered it to me was sure enough a nice person..
but..
i let it go.. because it did seem dodgy, as i recalled i was unable to grind my pan pass +9
oh well.

I have accepted a duped Needle +15. I love it and there is no way I would give it up. Anyway I recentlly was given a Needle +99 with Mines, Ruins and Hit all at 50%. I went to the shop and sold that. I dont mind taking a duped item but a hacked item is where I will draw the line.
PS - Dont give me grief about the money I got from the hacked item. I have 999k in my safe and give away 100K to most people I meet online since I always check all Special Weapons I get and then sell them.

no need to apologize to me. I was watching you guys hoplessly fight DF (that looked hella fun BTW) and when that guys said he had dropped some stuff my girl looked at me and went wow!! a holy ray!!! to which i told her "dont you think its odd hes giving stuff like this away?" (shes fairly new to this game) she then decided she didnt need the items, and at my suggestion took em, sold em, and dropped the cash. Talk about bein proud. Took the same level of restraint for you to drop em saitoh.

It's a feeling we have. One day I got a Spread Needle from someone. I began using it, but I didn't have all my hear into the battle. It sat in my check room. Several days later, I come across one in the ruins. This one I begin to use like crazy, for I cannot be ashamed of a legit weapon.

Thanks everyone.
One thing I would like to add. I'm of the opinion that these onscreen avatars are a reflection of ourselves. I don't want people to think ill of my characters because reflects upon me.
A while ago I was in the lobby with Aviendha and came across a character named Avienda. I proceeded to insult the person for having the same name as my character saying, "at least I can spell her name right" etc. I apologized afterwards but the damage was done and that made me feel bad. Maybe that person didn't give a crap or maybe they did. I actually care what others think, I know its weird but I can't help myself.
If people cared about their onscreen persona's their would be very little in game stealing. I wouldn't want to be called a thief therefore I cannot comprehend why people want to steal. They give lame excuses like, "it's part of the game". If it was actually part of the game then wouldn't their be some sort of thieving ability? I think its a sad commentary on todays society, that people associate someone dropping their weapon with "hey i could steal that". Maybe It didn't occur to sonic team that someone would be so awful as to steal another persons weapon. Is that terribly (or wonderfully) naive of sonic team to think that?
GAH! guess I'm kinda rambling here. Ooops now I'm late for work....everyone thanks for the support. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif
