Hello teens of the world.

I have not come to pass judgement on you, nor am i here to make arrogant remarks about those new metal objects you inserted into your body...
Instead, i have come to help you "see the light" as it were.

YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY PERSON ON THE PLANET

Your heaviest-of-heavy metal/hardest-of hardcore rap/punkiest-of-punk music does not kick the collective asses of all other art forms. As an individual you have the right to prefir it over the others. Still, because of this whole "free will" thingy, there may be some people who enjoy other things (OMGWTFBBQ!!!). Does this make them "wannabes" or "punk fuckheads"? Nope. Just the other folks calling this little blueberry home. If the way they walk/the music they listen to/how they dress pisses you off, just take a look in the mirror. You may well be influenced by outside forces too!

just a little rant from your friendly neighbourhood ciderman

No. Way. Omg... I cant believe it...

Heh, anyways, on a more serious note. I really dont like it when someone generalizes ALL teens into this catagory. I know that you never said that all teens were like that anywhere in your post, but I have seen some people do it. Personally, I dont care if you wanna listen to different stuff, or do different things, than I do. When I am placed into this catagory and TOLD that I do this, it just sorta pisses me off. =/

My sister though, does do this. She thinks im psycho for listening to Linkin Park (as some others of you might too -.-). She always is a jerk to me because I seem to not be able to walk straight. X.x So, i hate people who do this too, but it isnt just teens, and it definatly isnt ALL teens. =/ Meh, just my two cents.

Heh. I thought it would go without saying (as you were smart enough to understand). I try to be open minded, and i hope for (not expect... i'm not a total fool) the same from others.

You know what's scary?

Classical music groupies.

I've known a few, and I have to say, they scare me more than the gothic junkies.

Me? I'm very lasseiz faire and I happen to like all music. (Note that 'all music' does not include crap (silent C) because crap is not a valid form of music, seeing as it is missing two of the integral three elements of music: Tone, Rhythm and Harmony.)

I like everything but rap, jazz, and punk rock.

I dislike any noisy kind of music, and it is unadvised to listen to loud stuff in my presence, even if it is your place.

I don't force jazz or blues onto people, respect my ears.

I can't stand music in general sometimes quiet is nice. However the worst group of ppl are definatly teenagers who liston to film soundtracks and wear a formal shirt and proper shoes just to go out the house. Whats wrong with them has there energy been drained out by aliens. Wear a tshirt for go sake.

I am one of those weirdos who love to look formal http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif but in my defense t-shirts are not out of the question either.

True but they are few and far in-between. And the "goths" you refer to are posers. A true goth and a poser goth is very easy to spot. See someone ALWAYS in black, see someone ALWAYS acting depressed, see someone ALWAYS being dramatic, that is a poser.

No Rythm? That is why you can dance to it eh?
No Harmony? Harmony with what? other vocals...of course not that is why every music genre from today and yesteryears you can find it...strange how it doesn't harmonize.
No Tone? what kind of tone? you shouldn't use a very broad term to describe a very specific thing. What you should of said rather is that It has no tone that I (as in you) can relate, because EVRYTHING has a tone.

My house. My music. Don't come over or provide better conversation.

Berated by the people for loveing drugs and free love when they were brought about by our parents and then settled into a good system in our generation and now berated for dressing up and being well groomed...

Question...Anyone else notice that whenever you ask someone's music you get usually 1 of three answers.
1. I like x, but y is alright i guess
2. I love everything...cept country
3. Country...

Whatever...you know you have the PSO soundtrack in your car and drive around listening to it as loud as it will go, with all the windows down...especially Burning Rangers. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I put my money of Kafka! ^_^ No offense Kef, but he's got the FKL time on you to have made him into an insane fighting machine. You're close, but you need more training.

Rap, while technically music (it has rhythm, which makes it music), is not a viable art medium for musical talent. Speaking to a Casio keyboard/drum synth rhythm does not mean you have any talent whatsoever.

Now, some of the street performers I've seen on LA and NYC streets? They have talent. Why? They can freestyle. It's one thing to be able to spit out words at a rhythm whenyou've learned those words, its another entirely to be able to carry on a witty and viable converation while *still* remaining on beat and with rhythm, that's nothing short of amazing. I'm not a fan of rap (there are a handful of songs I like, but not the genre), but my musical ear goes out to these guys.

Country, again, a handful of songs. I just can't stand the southern drawl these people sing with. I've heard southerners sing, they don't have that weird drawl unless they *want* to. The genre would be much better if they went the way of folk singers, and kept the subject matter. At least that annoying, thrice damned drawl would be gone.

Only other genre I don't like is praise. I don't say christian, cause there are a lot of christian bands I like, but praise for any relegion gets to me. Some of these people have some real musical talent, and they're wasting it on something that sounds much better coming from a chorus in church/mosque/temple/etc.

Pick any other genre, I don't have a problem with it. One of my personal favorite insturments, and muscial types is the shamisen. Go grab a copy of a shamisen performance of Sakura Sakura, and listen to the melody. Beautiful. Or listen to something by Yoshida Kyodai, like Hyakkaryouran. They are masters at their art, and it shows.

Indeed.

and I like all kinds of shit, but there is very little in the way of rap, tribal, or country music that I like.

Celtic music is awesome.

"Fuck you man! I have black fingernail polish, I'm a punk! Kee-yah!"

Er, anyway.

For music, I have a variety of tastes. I have a sizable collection of PSO, Cowboy Bebop, and FLCL music on my main computer. Also a good bit of various Zelda music. XD

On this laptop, I have a lot of Trance (from KaFKa http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif), and some Monkees/Led Zeppelin from a friend.

I like jazzy stuff, techno-ish stuff, J-Rock...standard. Most really popular music, I hate. Rap and punk, heavy metal...bleh.

Saying "fuck" and "hoe" in rhyme...that's just not my cup of tea. Eminem and 50 Cent are losers, as well...http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

And, Ian. Elvis and Gackt, together at last. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

No Rythm makes it poetry...it's a different form of music and takes a lot of skill to keep a beat and a vocal tone at that speed. What do you think rappers speak the way they rap or somethin? don't be so dense. Most Rappers have more intelligence than most of us could ever hope to have. and not to mention their vocabulary is incredably vast. They also WRITE most if not all of what they do unlike most "music" genre people.

Eminem while i hate his persona as he makes himself out to be is by far the best musician that you have ever been graced with seeing. He is like Elvis in his day, accept Eminem doesn't steal songs.

Fitty cent, not fifty cent, is a freakin moron and thas all i got to say about him.

As far as curse words go. #1 if that's what turn you off to their music then you are not even listening to the music #2 If you think that that is all that makes em good in peopele's eyes then you don't know metaphor and lyrical genius.
