View Full Version : Let's just make a single E3 Thread

With the upcoming flood of E3 info, I think it would be wise to make a single thread to put it in.

Personally, I think Halo 2 is going to be sweet. I can't wait until 9/16.

Saw the Halo 2 MP footage earlier and i was really impressed. Looks so much better then the originl and has finally made me want to get the game.

New Zelda made my jaw drop, so beautiful looking (i love you Shigsy) and the Nintendo DS looks like its really pushing forward handheld gamin. Touch screen sounds interesting.

Now im waiting for something interesting to come out of SEGA.

Yeah, I love those Zelda images...Man can't wait till that's out...And Metroid too. "4 player Metroid hunt, anyone?"

What's really cool about Halo 2 is that new sword. I'd like to go around dual-wielding two of those.

Swords of Arcadia looks really interesting. Too bad I've never really heard anything about it except in Nintendo Power. Anyone know what it's going to be like? I expect something of a new-age Dark Cloud/Chrono Trigger deal

And Metroid Prime 2 seems like it's going to kick the hell out of the new 1st Person Shooter catagory.

Swords of Arcadia, what's that? I'm just primarily interested in Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms: Demon's Stone.

Sorry Ness....it's been pushed back to Nov 9, 2004 {store date}. Also, what sword in Halo 2 are you referring to....?! Is there really a sword?!

I am really sick of them delaying Halo 2....could they possibly make it any better?! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I really want to go to an E3 event....sadly I do not have the money and time to do such a thing.

As for E3 info...where the crap can you get it from?! lol http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Furthermore....are they making another Zelda game for the Gamecube *a continuation after Wind Waker*. I am not talking about "The Four Swords" game. If so...then I am so hopping on the bandwagon this time around and buying it instead occassionally playing it at a friends house. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Ness, I suggest you edit the the title to "Official E3 Topic" or something like that.

Ok, ok. Wow, I'm so psyched. What I'm psyched about:

Nintendo DS (Amazing!)
Metroid Prime 2 (Ha! I knew those guys were just random soldiers!)
Resident Evil 4 (Ok, the Gamespot thing bugged out on me and I missed a bit of the trailer. It went from the normal village footage to Leon blasting people in hoods inside a mansion with a rocket launcher. And who was that hairy guy!? Was it Billy or Carlos or something!?)
The Legend of Zelda (This will rock. PERIOD.)
Star Fox 2 (Not as psyched, but it looks cool.)
Geist (I need more info on this!)

Ok, I've got to say that the Nintendo conference reminded me why I play video games. It was awesome.

Alright, and the non-Nintendo stuff:

Musashi Samurai Legend (Loved the first one. Why is his hair brown now?)
Kingdom Hearts 2 (Man oh man oh man!)
Halo 2 (This game looks so good. Forget Doom III... this game will rock.)

Um... did I forget anything I mentioned in other threads?

Yeah. I love this time of year. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah, i would have to say the graphics are a big, BIG improvement on the original GC Trailer. The bit which really stood out for me was when Link jumped at that monster in the forest. The lighting trough the trees was beautiful.

Darn them! And yes there really is a melee sword. It's the one used by some elites in the later missions on Halo. There is also a bazooka and the ability to use two weapons at once.

It seems with the Nintendo DS and the new Zelda, Nintendo has this E3 in the bag. If only the DS was shown, then Sony and Nintendo would be almost equal but the realistic Zelda pulled the Big N into, as some has claimed, the best Nintendo showing in quite a few years.

Not to say that Sony didn't have a great show with the PSP. Just like the DS, support is spread across the floor with games that actually match the PS2 in graphical performance (See: Gran Tourismo 4). Many gamers, myself included, are excited about this portable game/movie/music player. The design is slick (even though it reminds me of a TV remote).

Probably the weakest showing was Xbox and Microsoft with no real announcements or surprises that made as big an impact as Nintendo's Zelda and NDS and Sony's PSP. However, they are still having a great showing with Halo 2, Doom 3, and Half-Life 2. Other great games are shown that can compete with almost anything that Nintendo and Sony have.

Of course in the end, when each and every one of these games are released, its Outrider that will be the winner of the universe.

Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms: Demon's Stone is produced by Stormfront Studios and Atari (-_-)

Phantasy Star Universe (Phantasy Star Online 2 or Phantasy Star V?)

Wild Arms 1 Remake (Alter Code: F) is being brought to America via Agetec

Tales of Symphonia (GC/PS2)... 'PS2 will have more features'...?

You can customize multiplayer game rules and situations. Not the maps. One of the options is whether or not to have vehicles (and which ones) if the map supports them.

E3 was pretty exciting. I'll try and remember as much as I can in regards to which games I saw, played, etc., so I may think of more to say later.

Unfortunately, I was unable to locate anything on Halo 2 besides some posters that had been around the various exhibit halls. If it was there, I must have missed it. If there was a playable demo, it would have definitely stood out.

I've never been one to play many of the survival horror games, but I must say I enjoyed playing the Resident Evil 4 demo they had available. I played a bit of the Silent Hill 4 demo and watched some others play it, but I haven't really seen or played much of the earlier Silent Hills, so I can't really make a good opinion of how it stacks up with the others. That room is pretty messed up. Siren had such good graphics that I think it adds to the scare factor.

No Animal Crossing 2 as far as I saw, but they did have the new Harvest Moon. The machines were filled when I walked by, but I didn't have enough time to really make it back there.

The new Star Ocean was very nice from what I played. The battle system seems very much like the earlier games, but in a more 3d style. There is even a mode akin to fighting games, where you can play against others and take them out.

I'm not one for many of the Final Fantasy games outside of Tactics, but when I played the FFXII demo, I was fairly impressed. The battle system is a similar to Chrono Trigger's active time, except the time is used between the command and the action, rather than the turn the characters make their move. FFXII is set more in the FFTA world of Ivalice, including several of the featured races as well as judges. The graphics and character design were an odd attention grabber, as it seemed more like the pictures of the characters I've seen in Vagrant Story in that respect.

Devil May Cry 3 was playable, but when I watched others play I saw very little changes to the gameplay. Likewise for Viewtiful Joe 2, as the graphics and gameplay were very similar to the original. A second character is playable. I will probably get Otogi 2 before DMC 3.

I must say I enjoyed watching the multiplayer mode in Metroid Prime 2. The graphics suffered little, and there was little to no slowdown, even in the heat of battle.

I was disappointed when I saw the Advance Wars game for the Gamecube. It's a 3d roaming environment that seems more like an Army Men game. Not a good sign. Also, the Infantry units were called... grunts? They looked like completely different units.

Hmm, what else was there...? I can't recall everything I saw at the moment, so go ahead and ask and I'll see if I have anything more. I'm sure I'm forgetting many many games at the moment.
