Here's a fun fact that many of you may not be aware of:

Inu Yasha was written by the same person that wrote such classics as Urisei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2. Rumiko Takahashi.

Those wishing to speak poorly of the series because of the fanbase it's developed should keep that in mind.
