Hmm... I havn't had the chance to play the multi mode (which could be the best part) but the single is sort of weak.

I beat it easily, but some replay value is generated by the fact that you need to beat the game several times to get all of the parts (one time through earned me arcade mode, first person mode [i like this better] and about 1/8 of the items/bots).

Personally, i think the story mode could have been much better if it was Battle Network style, and the fight levels could be larger (and more complicated).

Right now, the multimode would make the difference between a recomendation or not.

Well, as i said, i only have about 1/8 of the invintory.

The basic layout is:
Body type- about 12 or so different types and four Robos of each type (regular, def specialist, atk specialist and some other specialist). All with unique close combat moves. Every class is played in its own way (some float, some warp, some fly, some run etc).

Gun type- largest slection (most of which are copies with slight variations eg. 5-way shot left and 5-way shot right)

Pod Type- a few less than the guns, but more creative.

Bomb type- about the same amount as pods.

Foot type- only about 16.

You don't really change the look of your Robo so much as you change your strategy and attack. Two Robos with the same bdy type and totally different items will look almost the same, but fight very differently.

Play against comps even if you cant play against another person, and if ya can, thats even better. Once you do get a large selection of parts, its fun to see the kinds of pre battle strategies you can come up with (Even though i have a BAD habit of using Ray 01 or Criminal, Gatling or Blade, Cresent P, Speed P, and High Jump =/, cuz im a cheap whore =/)
