Uh, how about calling it:

"Hey, another red box. What luck! Y'know, those people on PSOW play this game way too much to have all those rares. I mean, I only have one character at a respectable level, and I just can't imagine working so hard. They sure are dedicated. I suppose I should give this photon drop to Dylan, cause he asked for it. Oh man, and I gotta do my laundry today as well. Well that stinks."

Me: "I CALL PHOTON DROPS!!!"

Everyone: "LOL" "lol"

Me: "Im serious, touch them and die"

Everyone: "??" "?" "errr?"

Me: "RAWRZ PHOTON DROPS ARE MINE"

Later after run is complete, the only rare that actually did drop was... a PHOTON DROP MUAWHAHAHAHAHA.... thats my story http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Even though it is cute to shorten Photondrop to PD, I cant help but feel it sounds likes some disease like VD, STD, etc etc.

May I suggest adding "chan" to it? PDchan? Or changing it to PreciousDrop?

Now see, being an old school Phanatic, when someone says "PD" to me, I don't immediately think "Photon Drop!", I immediately think, "Profound Darkness?"

Conversations about hunting for Photon Drops always stir me the wrong way, because of that.

The idea for this thread came from a game I played, it was me and three other hunters, in ep2 we split up

Legit FOmar got Mountains

Legit RAcaseal got Seaside

and uber haxed HUcast with L&K 14 Combats using Al Rappy units to get 40000 ATP got CCA.

So the HUcast waited at the gate while we did our courses, after I beat Meri' the RAcaseal screamed "PhotonDrop you Jackass!!"

I stopped what I was doing and asked,"What?"

"NO NOT YOU!! A REAL ONE DROPPED INSTEAD OF MY SJS!!"

the whole room broke out into laughter.
