For those who know me, Im Stardust, spacepirate (by title only), bounty-hunter (by title only) and archeologist (profession)... I have had my share of danger and let me tell you... The only reason the wolves are still alive and well is because the meat is still stupid. All you need to do is use some common sense. That and exercise a little self control. These are the rules I use to keep badguys from preying on a helpless girl such as myself... ;-p
0) if you want the "fail-safe" password code... If you want to leave your game open go to step 1
1) Never play a unpassworded game with any of your one-of-a-kind or rare weapons. You get PK'd, its gone, end of story. It cant be much fun to steal common items. PK's will be left with a most unsatifying reward.
2) Upon starting an unpassworded quest/game, leave your money in the bank. start with 0 meseta. That way if you die, no one grabs your cash. They pocket money you gain along the way can always be re-aquired under better conditions.
3) Always be suspicious of anyone new you meet. Especialy if they abound with generocity. Its okay to accept gifts, but if you have even a twinge that it could be hacked.. leave it alone... you can earn it with good ol hard work.. Playing with hacked items will get you booted later in the future anyway. Remeber sega is watching..
4) Watch peoples online ediquite, if they are hounding you for new items leave them be. Unless they are in thier first 10 levels of progress, you may have trouble on your hands..
5) All trades need to be spelled out to a "T"..
Ask about the specs of the item you are about to aquire, match them to the guide here.. Or wait to see if they stumble around with vauge answers. If they cant tell you what the specs on the weapon is, or something is incontinuitous... dont trade.. Be straight with them too.. Impress the thief with your knowlege of the specs you can view right in your viewport... Make him/her salivate.. If they cant return the favor, the dissappointment is all the more sweet..(but remeber dont be holding the thing in your grubby little paws! What you hold can be dropped.. To this day no one has been able to sack your bloody carcass for things in your pockets..)
6) Always be the pessimist and cynic when dealing with and unfamiliar crowd. they mys Gain your trust and you thiers. Play a few games with them.. Get in thier confidence.. be friends.. Its least likely once they get to know you that they will take advantage of you. I know, im friends with some the the biggest nasties on the block. they respect my wishes to be legit, and i honor thier persuit of the darkside of gaming.. respect is all anyone ever wants...
7) And now my favorite, the one every space pirate or aspiring space pirate needs to know. She who hides in the back... Never gets stabbed. Watch the bigger guys run in and get the job done.. Wait for you window to sneak a few hit in on the creature, retreat. Rinse - Recycle - Repeat. We pirate girlz can move pretty fast never let them get you from behind honey... So you wont be caught unaware.

If you die and you items are on the pipe, they are about 75% protected becuse it will port your body raider back to town. If you can hop the pipe before a PK attack can get off even better.. Then RUN... he who runs away, lives another day..
9) If you need any help just look for a Hunewearl with a great tan and all in yellow (the color of cash!). Her name is Stardust, leader of the Sol Bianca Space pirates... Its an all woman team but hey we dont mind helping the cute guys out, if they need it...
