We actually had a thread like this over a year ago. There are actually many girl PSO players out there. They just don't say it because many males players appearently hit on them. Only saw that happen a few times though but that is what I hear.

PSOW has quite a few female players. Can't point them out but they are there (dispite what one of my friends says).

Do you not think the more appropriate question would be 'How many girls play PSO?'. And even then, do you really think is is important? Okay....when I play online games I expect to see more males in general. But it is nice to see females playing video games...b'cuz it keeps the variety fresh instead of having the same type of ppl playing. *Girls tend to generally think a little different than guys btw, so they wouldn't be complete and utter jerks like some of the males*.

I could care less really if I see a female in a video game. I'm not going to waste my game time trying to impress her/it whatever. When two people participate in some type of event, etc. they do share a "common ground".

If girls didn't play video games....then that would decrease the value of "common ground" a little...but girls and guys don't just like video games as a whole...they also like the same types of music, foods, as well as other hobbies.

The thing I have noticed about girls playing PSO is that they do it to find an online relationship. This sounds stereotypical but I know a good 20 girls or so that play. Another thing, the majority of them are either bisexual or lesbian. I'm not saying this is bad or that I have anything against that, just that honestly.. about 75% of the ones that I know are one or the other, strangely enough. My guess to why this is would be hormones, that since they have the drive to play games which is typically a male drive, they also have the drive for the females as a male would too.

I met my current girlfriend on pso, and yes it is just an online relationship thus far although we hope to soon call and hopefully meet in person relatively soon. I have met a few girls that were definately not gamers at all, they could hardly play the game but only came on for the social aspect of it. My girlfriend is actually very good for the most part but doesn't get much time to play, sadly.

All types of people play games, just as all types of people work all types of jobs, etc. There will always be the majority of males, but there is definately many girls that play as well.. end of story.

Well, maybe if it wasn't as obvious that some of the posters who claim that no females play games whatsoever are in fact females that play games, you might have an argument. The heavy sarcasm and satire might have been a good clue. The point is that the original question is frankly a stupid one with obvious answers. Of course there are female gamers, but so many people treat them like some sort of oddity or rebel against nature. Thus, the sarcasm. Look back at some of the other topics concerning this matter. You'll see why it's this way.

Well, maybe if it wasn't as obvious that some of the posters who claim that no females play games whatsoever are in fact females that play games, you might have an argument. The heavy sarcasm and satire might have been a good clue. The point is that the original question is frankly a stupid one with obvious answers. Of course there are female gamers, but so many people treat them like some sort of oddity or rebel against nature. Thus, the sarcasm. Look back at some of the other topics concerning this matter. You'll see why it's this way.



Ah yes.. thank you Ness Mixfortune for clearing up the issues for me. I really still thought that it was possible that females don't play at all, and that some of you really believed this. I found a duty to prove otherwise, and for what! It was all a joke, for the most part. I should have noticed the sarcasm more easily. You really are an expert at seeing the sarcasm, aren't you? Yes...I'm sure a lot of people fit into that description....but there's a lot that don't. It's just that a little under a decade ago it was unheard of that girls actually played video games.

I scratched out Ness because you replied to the questions I asked him. The assumptions you made:

I either scratched out Ness because I felt that you shouldn't be able to respond to this or that you sounded like Ness. Reality -- I just find it amusing that you would defend questions I asked to him directly and wanted to see how you would react to my scratching out his name.

That the topic should be locked, and therefore it is absurd we should be posting in this thread at all. Reality -- We are still in discussion are we not? And until it IS locked, does it matter?

That I didn't read on what Ness and people had previously posted. Reality -- I did, shame that I had to play along in my own way? If you disagree with my opinions, or the way in which I express them, I am sorry. I did my own sarcasm, just as many of the others did. To single me out as being the one not in the know was your mistake.

That I think a poll of Texas was in fact needed for him to state his opinion on the female gamers in Texas. Reality -- Nope, again - sarcasm. But I wondered what he was thinking when he posted that, possibly how he came to that conclusion. Guess I should be more blunt, eh? Alright, I understand you a bit better now. The only reason I "singled you out" was because it seemed like you were the only one that seemed to be in an actual argument with the points other people posted that weren't really there to begin with. I apologize for misreading your statements. When I read what you have posted it seemed you were taking the matter a lot more seriously.

As for why I mentioned the thread being locked, it was not an assumption that it should be. The creator of the topic asked himself for the thread to be locked. Generally, that means it ends up locked by request of the creator. No assumption there. The reaosn why I posted "Something tells me this thread is done with" was referring to the fact that the thread had become a bit spammy as of late. Whether you meant that line in particular I don't know, but mostly I was saying this thread may be locked on basis of requested by the creator.

Actually, Hermaphodites are female. The male part rarely functions, and if it can produce, is infertile. Hermaphrodite's come about from the Fetus's cells thinking it has a Y chromosome, starting to build the parts required, then figuring out that it is in fact a double X, so it halts development of the male organs.
