I agree with all of those except number VIII. There is nothing wrong with getting invloved with politics during the years of adolescence. By then, most people are able to make informed political assertions.

As far as disciplining children, not only do I agree, but I have some more stuff to add to that. The parents of undisciplined children are pretty bad too. They are usually the ones that bitch at websites that contain content that their children don't want to see.

My across-the-street neighbors were like this.

The eldest son was a friend of mine. I went over to his house a lot. He had 2 younger brothers. The were loud, whined for everything they saw in a store (And usaually got it http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif ), and they hit eachother, and the eldest one too. While, I don't agree that the eldest one should hit back, he was the one who always got in trouble. And now, that still happens, and the youngest one is 8. I've known him since he was 4, and he hasn't matured at all. All fart jokes, and a -50 Bajillion IQ.

So on my latest visit (Since we don't live in Strathroy anymore), he was in the room bothering us, and screaming his head off. I said jokingly that he needed anger management, and he scremed at me, "I DON'T NEED ANGER MANAGEMENT!" And started throwing empty boxes at me and telling me how much he hated me. On the comment of liking/disliking your country, I just felt I would bring up Howard Zinn. Has anybody read any of his stuff? It's generally well-written and he brings up some good points. However, I just don't care for him.

For the most part, he's just a very radical liberal. I like to consider myself liberal, but some of his ideas are just silly. He has some borderline Marxist ideas that most people understand are impossible to work on a large scale. Not saying he advocates the workers rising up or anything, but I'm just trying to get my point across.

What I find so weird is that he tends to claim that there is no real American dream, when he's a perfect example of it. He was a poor blue-collar worker who went to school and has become a famous college professor and author.

Yes, having somewhat of an ego is good. But two things happen around your teens. People that say this need a bitchslap or two and realise that THEY ARE the narrowminded ones. They're getting pissy because someone has a different view than them, oh the irony.

I hate it when people say this too. Usually because I'm more open-minded than the person who is saying I'm narrow-minded. They only say that when they are losing an arguement or "I say something that they can't argue against." Also, I hate it when people label those who are against gay marriages as narrowminded. Tolerance is a two way street and while I'm for gay marriages myself flaming someone who is not makes me no better than they are.
